How clean is your house? Truthfully!

Am I your sister?
My kitchen floor is dirty. I hate the kitchen because the walls and ceiling need cleaning. I hate the bathroom because it's mouldy and my asthma's been bad so I can't handle cleaning it, and my husband's back is bad so he can't do it either. The bath, sink, loo and floor are clean but the walls and ceiling are embarrassing.
Do you have a B and M near you? If so they sell a 99p mould and mildew remover, I'm sure huge brand is called astonish. The stuff is amazing, just spray and leave for around 20 mins all will disappear on ceiling and walls0 -
I have a three week old son, three of the most odemanding step-kids you will ever meet, one dog, two cats and a partner who works over 40 hrs a week with an hour and a half commute each way... what do you think? :rotfl:Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0

There's one a couple of miles away that I could cycle to, but we already have a flash mould and mildew remover, is this one better, or just a cheaper way of doing the same job?
I was thinking maybe I could get some sort of face mask to stop me breathing it in, and do it myself.
We just got a double glazed window for the bathroom, so fingers crossed we won't get any more mould - I think it was the cold metal window that caused problems. My project for this year is to strip the walls, plaster up all the cracks and then use mould resistant paint to redecorate52% tight0 -

I can ignore it for so long then it drives me insane. Currently there is stuff piled on the stairs and the landing which has got to be put away tomorrow!
On Thursday the oven and stairs/landing carpet are being cleaned. My NY resolution is to not let the oven get to the minging stage again....[/QUOTE]
:rotfl:I had to buy a new oven as mine was beyond even professional cleaning! I went on a cleaning website which showed before and after shots - I'd have been delighted with the 'before' shot0 -
Jellyhead, I'm asthmatic too and there are only one or two products I can use safely. The best one for me is Dettol Multi Action Cleaner spray - the green apple one. Even better though would be a paste product. There was one I used years ago - fantastic on ground-in soap scum
on the bath and shower screen, but I can't remember what it was called. Maybe it was Astonish?
I'm another one with severe mould in the bathroom  So distressing.0 -
Downstairs is spotless:A
It's not always, just this morning I tackled the floors and wet dusted all the unused rooms and cleaned the bathrooms. New kitchen makes me want to keep it clean and tidy, to the extent I've even bought lock and lock to keep my cupboards tidy lol (so unlike me, usually I'm a out of sight out of mind type)
Upstairs will get hovered, dusted and cleaned Wednesday. Bathroom is bareable till then. My bedroom looks like a tip with piles of laundry waiting to be ironed. But there's only me home alone so I don't care:D0 -
When I left for work this morning my flat looked as though a bomb had hit it....
However, generally, my lounge is clean with a "tidy mess", my kitchen is clean and tidy, my bathroom minging and my bedroom even more so.
I am another with a manky mould problem. I have an en suite bathroom with no window and an extractor fan that can't seem to cope! My bedroom therefore is a haven for condensation and mould! I scrubbed my walls yesterday using a splash of lemon scented all purpose cleaner and lemon bleach diluted in hot water. Seems to have worked for now. However, the astonish mould remover is fabulous! I just cannot breathe when I use it. Unfortunately my wooden door is swollen shut so I cannot open it for ventilation..... bit of a disaster really... and my dehumidifier has a leak!!All hail to the sale!!!!!!

Mine is cleanish and tidyish. I have 3 children who are gradually taking over the house with their stuff. Now they are back at school i can get sorted just not today im enjoying the peace of the first day back at schoolSometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

I live in a fairly small 2-bed flat with just my DH and it is OK. Not super clean nor super tidy, but it won't shame me if someone dropped in unannounced! Our living area is all open plan so we try to keep on top of dishes (no room for a dishwasher) and the worktops are always wiped down as it's difficult to settle when there's a corner of the room crying out for a cleaning! The rest of the room is neat and tidy, it gets hoovered once or twice a week and my neat-freak DH is always removing any clutter from there, but if you look carefully it is pretty dusty around the edges.
Same goes for the bathroom and bedroom, fine to look at generally but usually in need of a dust. I just hate doing it as it seems like the minute I close the door on a freshly cleaned room it gets dusty again!
Our spare room is hardly ever visitor worthy though! It is a bit of a dumping ground and I find that the more clutter there is to deal with the less capable I become of actually dealing with it (where do I start?! Where should it all go?!) so it builds up and up. DH doesn't help as he just classes it all as my 'rubbish' and adds to the piles with whatever items he finds in the living room etc that belong to me, his neat-freakery only extends to the rooms on show and he shows little respect towards my stuff and my areas of our flat.
I feel like I'm constantly fighting a losing battle with that room TBH.

I hate dusting too (along with all housework). My excuse for not doing it is that when you dust, you move the dust around which is probably not healthy as you breathe in the dust. My other excuse is that if something has dust on it, then it is not being used, so why bother dusting it.0
