    Debt-free and Proud!
Looks around - its reasonably clean and tidy - i do have to try and contain my messy traits. The family bathroom is messy as its half way through getting decorated and the spare bedroom bed is covered in boots/cardigans etc that I need to send back tomorrow (hiding them from the kitten!!) But as everyone else the visitors turn up when you let things 'slip'!

    Well, what can I say!!

As its 'decs down day' DH decided we would do a clean thru , as there is usually a bit of mess from the various christmasy things ( e.g: tinsel bits, snow spray residue, sticky tape marks etc etc...)

Never mind, he says at 8.30 am, if we both muck in we'll have it done in no time!!

Great, thinks me, help with the housework!! yippee!! :j:j
    I wasn't aware he meant a full spring clean:eek:!!!
I'm absolutely shattered ,and can't wait for bedtime!!!:rotfl::rotfl:
    BUT........
At the moment , its VERY clean, and as tidy as can be expected with a very active 5yr old charging round!! It won't last, as DGS is staying for a few days!( say no more!!):rotfl::rotfl:

Oh dear, the tiredness is taking ove..zzzzzzzz:wink:

My place isn't tidy and with two dogs and two cats is not especially clean, but I do clean round twice or three times a week. I am always surprised at how quickly it reverts back to chaos
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

My house is tidy every night once the kids go to bed. The hoovering gets done then, bathroom is cleaned, kitchen is wiped down, kitchen floor swept, etc.
However, by the time the kids have been up for 30 minutes the next morning, you'd never know. Some days, it wouldn't surprise me if the Life of Grime crew turned up on the doorstep...

It's clean, but we have way too much stuff and not enough space for it to be tidy. Need to have a serious declutter this year.

At the moment, after 2 weeks of laid back attitudes and everyone except me off work, it's pretty dire!

Can't wait to get round it tomorrow and restore order!

That said, we aren't the greatest of housekeepers and it's usually untidy.

I don't like it being filthy but I don't go for spotless either as, in my experience, people with spotless houses are twice as likely to get stomach bugs and other nasties.

I'm sure it's not healthy to have a house that's too clean. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

I do a thorough clean of the 6 rooms in rotation weekly and a general clean of everywhere weekly so living on my own it's kept reasonably well, particularly the kitchen and the bathroom which are cleaned every day. But I do need teach the animals to put their toys away and stop bringing bones, hooves etc., in the house and leaving them where I trip over them . I was going to say they're worse than kids, but then I remembered what the DC were like when they lived at home....

Mine is spotless for a change. Ive been off work for 2 and a half weeks and hve had the energy and inclination to clean and tidy. I find mess stressful but just cant face the thought of cleaning after work or on the weekend. As I live on my own, at least its my mess. I am considering getting a lodger and if I did that then the house would have to be maintained in a spick n span condition... I hate other people's mess!

Following the "who's got a cleaner?" thread (or whatever it was called) I am going to employ a cleaner to come round to help me keep the house in a less stressful condition. I am also hoping to get a new job which will mean I come home less stressed, angry and irritable which may make me feel like cleaning a little more.

My worst job is mopping the floors... give me the loo to clean any day! How mad is that?

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I've been working on a system similar to flylady but my own version, cleaning up as I go, with a quick morning and evening swish around, and having one focus zone per day - tomorrow is sitting room so I'll brush down sofas, proper sweep and dust, put away all the carp that gathers up there during the week. That's as much as I can manage with full time work. Mostly the place is therefore in ok shape though it wouldn't pass an inspection :) or certainly could be ok with even 10 mins notice. Mind you my only drop in visitors are male (esp DFIL) and as long as there's tea and biscuits on the table within a few minutes they wouldn't notice if a bomb had dropped :)

It makes a huge difference to me to have things in order though, to my own mental health besides anything else.
