Was the reed diffuser a mispriced item too?

    I believe so - £8 instead of £16 I think

I knew my Littlewoods order was down to one candle as they phoned, but have just received 3 of 4 refunded from Woolworths with no contact, leaving a candle with £3.95 p&p...cancellation e-mail winging it's way to them. When Littlewoods candle arrives account will be closed. What a debacle!

Hmmmm.... Just spoke to Very. Hadn't received any correspondence from them re: cancelling my order due to a mispricing error on the website. I innocently called earlier to try to change my delivery address and found they had cancelled all of my candles, chosen an item to give to me - as a goodwill gesture - and charged me delivery on this item.

Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you. Title to the goods will pass to you on delivery.

None of the items are now online and the Agent I spoke to was also befuddled as he quoted from the internal memo which said they'd give Customers the opportunity to buy the original items again at the correct price.

Anyway, it's been escalated to the Customer Excellence Department and I am curious as to how/if this matter will be resolved to my satisfaction - ultimately that I get my original order. If not, ah well, but I'm very interested as to what happens next...

  • I've been left with just one candle from littlewoods. In fairness to them they've been trying to call me but I've always been at work so missed their calls. I got an email telling me about mis pricing etc but they'd send me one candle as a goodwill gesture.

I queried the P&P but they've confirmed that I'm only paying £8 and no extra post charges are being added on.

Bit cheesed off but hey ho :(
  • Starting to get messy, had reply that customer services would honour the fragrance I requested and all rest would be cancelled, just checked and whole order cancelled and no new order for single item showing. Have emailed them again, starting to think probably will not get one at all, and if this is the case will attempt to totally close this account as no interest in buying anything else from them ever again.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:

I was in a Tesco Extra this afternoon and they had large jar Yankee Candles for £13 but are these the 'real' Yankee Candes or is Yankee Candle a type rather thn a trade name? I've never bought them before. I am tending to think they are a similar item as I didn't recognise the fragrance names.

Anyone know. Just interested because if I like my 'one' when I get it I may want to source some more.

  • I was right total mess up from Littlewoods, promised a single large yankee candle, in the fragrance I requested, then they cancelled whole order and did not create single order for the one candle. When queried they wanted me to phone their premium rate number to sort it out. Several frustrating emails later I have requested them to cancel the credit account as have no intention of ever using their services again. Should have known better than to use this sort of company no matter how good the deal, hope it all goes more smoothly for others, and anyone who does receive their candle at correct price well done!

  • I got the phone call asking me to chose one, out of my order for four........asked for Cupcake please.

Just looked at my account and Clean Cotton is the only one NOT cancelled, no sign of Cupcake :rotfl:
  • I had had confirmation via email that they would send my one chosen fragrance and cancel the others. checked status today and all items have been cancelled. Emailed them to clarify why the one chosen candle was showing as cancelled and they advised me to re-order at full price and they would adjust later, if I was happy with product.

Not happy with that proposal at all, as I now have no faith in their admin processes. Have told them to close my account as I will not be shopping with them now or in future, which is a shame as they are a local company that I would like to support in these tough retail times.:naughty:

Tescos sell Yankee's "Simply Home" range. I *think* I read on another thread somewhere that these are new fragrances created from leftover wax from the standard range fragrances. I've heard that the Simply Home candles smell quite a bit weaker than the standard Yankees. Not sure I'd try them myself, personally, as they're still pretty expensive.
