I know my partner is supportive :) I've realised this more and more. I thought he would have hated me for last night, but he doesn't I'm really happy.

Actually, if this is a rocket that she needs then I don't care if they tell her its me.

Whats the worse they could do?

I rather suspect that rather in the manner in which the sister fires random shots in terms of chancing it for cash and free childcare, she is simply going to blame everyone who crosses her mind, and anyone who's reported her in the past will think that SS have spilt the beans.

Speaking in passing to my boyfriend, I now know why she hates my boyfriend, She asked for a £1000 loan which he refused. So its a bit clearer why she doesn't like him.

How often has your sister left the children with you?do they always come around hungry? Do they seem withdrawn?scared? Have you asked them what it is like at home? Do they have friends? do they get left home alone? are they doing ok at school?

The times theyve come round theyve always been hungry and at times scared to tell me things. As for friends I don't know no one is ever mentioned. A few times Ive gone up because theyve rang me saying their mum isn't in.

Yesterday, They would have finished off all take away, cake, the fridge and freezer!!

As a mother of one I'm eternally grateful when we can find a babysitter to look after our daughter for a night out once in a blue moon - and that's maybe once every 2 months! I'm just as grateful when it's a babysitter as if it's a friend looking after her and leave out either money for pizza to be delivered or I make sure there is PLENTY in the fridge and snacks and fizzy drinks etc. I leave very loose rules and accept that it's my choice to go out. If my daughter is up 2 hours after her bedtime because she's having a good time playing with the babysitter then so be it, I'll deal in the morning ;)
I'd never dream of "dumping" her with anyone, in an emergency yes maybe, but even then I'd make blooming sure that they were ok with me leaving her with them... and I'm talking medical emergency here... no work emergency would ever be bad enough to justify me just ditching her.
So... do I think you did the right think for them taking them in last night? Yes. Because if you hadn't (door mat or not) they would have probably been dragged along to whatever party she went to and frankly... that scares me! Her behaviour it NOT normal, but hopefully SS will keep an eye on her and the girls. I don't think on the face of it there is enough to take them off her (sadly in some respects...) but it might be a slap in her face to realise she is under official scrutiny...
Where I live someone found a 1 year old outside late at night on it's own, no sign of a parent. They spent an hour looking incase someone was hurt somewhere whilst the child was whisked to A&E to be treated for hypothermia. Eventually the mother made herself known - she'd fallen asleep at home and claims the baby must have crawled out the window on the ground floor... now... I don't know about anyone else but I can her my child sigh if I'm asleep LOL I CERTAINLY know if she's out of bed! Even when utterly exhausted due to sleep deprivation have I always heard her stirring... how the child could get out of a cot etc, up onto a window sill and OUTSIDE (must have bumped surely!) without her realising for SEVERAL hours... And as far as I know SS haven't taken the child into care (or hadn't when I last heard...)

That's the ideal opportunity to phone the police or SS and say the children have been left alone.

    This stuff angers me
I may not be the best Dad(hard to believe but I can be a grumpy sod ;) ) but my boy is always well fed with decent food.
I came from a pretty crap family and know whats its like to be genuinely hungry as a kid.
