I am afraid quite a few people do get muddled up between "advice" and "advise".
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Mine will be to avoid being too sarcastic to people who post in txt spk, don't use capitals or punctuation, and can't tell the difference between "there" and "their".
You forgot its and it's. And it's independent. And photos does not take an apostrophe, as doesn't cameras. I could go on, and on, and on...

No problem with taking people to task over these. Clearly their teachers never did while at school, so they are now blissfully ignorant of their errors, and the impression it gives everyone else that they are illiterate and ignorant :p.

As for lack of sentences, punctuation and capitals, I don't even bother reading those posts, it's too much like hard work. Why should each reader take an extra minute deciphering a post, when the writer can take 2 minutes making it readable - a much better use of time.

On the question of "licence/license" , take a look at this headline from today's Daily Express:-

    http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/365759/Stobart-Barristers-could-save-your-driving-license-this-Christmas

I'm not surprised by this, especially as the same paper printed a picture a couple of days ago headlined "Our brave troops enjoying Christmas dinner", which turned out to be a photo of some Czech soldiers sitting down to their Christmas meal.

If anyone else starts a new post or thread saying 'I have got a private parking ticket and I know you used to be able to ignore these...but mine is different because it has a bit about the 'Protection of Freedoms Act' I WILL SCREAM!

NOTHING HAS CHANGED EXCEPT THE PPCS CAN NOW CHASE THE REGISTERED KEEPER FOR THEIR UNENFORCEABLE PIECE OF TRASH, RATHER THAN JUST CHASE THE DRIVER. YOU CAN STILL IGNORE A FAKE PCN. OR IF IN ENGLAND & WALES, YOU CAN USE POPLA (THERE'S A STICKY ABOUT THIS).

THE ACT DOES NOT APPLY IN SCOTLAND SO IT'S EVEN EASIER TO IGNORE A FAKE PCN FROM ANY PRIVATE COMPANY IF IN SCOTLAND.

Here's a post that I use every time but I am getting soooo bored of this question:

For God's sake search the forum before posting.

Even easier, there's a handy 'search this forum' button just above the threads index when looking at the forum as a whole. It's on the right:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

All you have to do is put a keyword in, please newbies. Try it. 'Protection' or 'new law October' would find loads of results.

    PLEASE!!!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Our local paper, The West Briton, is also running an article about this chap who received a fine in a private car park. You would think that the press would be able to get their facts correct :) before making believe that the PPC's were correct.

It looks like Auto Express got a letter from Premier Park after running this story in the magazine - http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/consumer-news/61561/watchdog-reader-charged-ps150-not-parking as they printed that "following further evidence submitted by Premier Park, the charge of £100 is justified"

They probably got a letter from Graham White.

£100 justified for a fake PCN of a car that did NOT park?! :rotfl:

When the BPA Code of Practice says somewhere (I think) that there should be a 'grace period' to allow a car driver to drive in, the driver to read the signs and decide not to park, & then drive out again.

I can't see anything on there about £100 being fair, is it me ?
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
