    Thanks for the welcome Mysk-girl.

Yes, my lists are too long, but I feel if I don't write it down then I will never remember it. They aren't organised either - I remember some time management training course i was once on about things needing to be in categories, urgent and important, urgent, important, urgent but not important, important but not urgent and not important/not urgent. Or something like that, but even in my work life that seemed way to complicated and I would spend too long working out what categories something should be in.

I also bought a task list app, which I use sporadically and stuff sometimes falls between the cracks of that and pen & paper.

Certain cleaning jobs that should be done more frequently for hygiene reasons  that I feel guilty about with a LO running around.

Things I seem never to get round to are home maintenance/sorting out getting things fixed, DIY jobs and ebaying. Although these fall partly in the things to nag OH about doing list :rotfl:

Well not been too bad today although was up most of the night. I have wiped down the work tops and front of cooler hood and fridge
I've emptied and wiped over the bin
Cleaned the work top I the utility
Wiped the back of 2 of the doors
Cleaned half the blind in the utility
    Wiped over 4 window sills
Gave the loo sink a wipe
    Hoovered trough downstairs
    Mopped downstairs
    Put the washing away
    Made the bed
    Tidied the toys away
    Washed all the bottles up
And..... I think that's it, not bad as I was long to have a lazy pyjama day!

We've got a string type vileda one, it's been going strong for a good long time if that helps.

Had a little map and feel a little better. :)
  • Nice cheese mysk-girl, and hi make-it-3!

Talking of cookies - love this recipe:
    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4672/freezer-biscuits

you can add whatever flavourings you like (nuts, dried fruit, choc chips etc).

What I do is make the recipe up to the point of baking and then freeze the biscuits on a tray (the mixture is too hard to slice when frozen I find). Then bag up the frozen uncooked biscuits to use later - they take about 10 mins to cook from frozen.
So - homemade biscuits in a flash and you can just cook a few at a time (so less guilt - or at least spread out over a longer time!)

Re the home made cheese, how do you get different styles and flavours? I thought it was just a basic paneer type you could make at home. I love halloumi, if I had the recipe I could put it on my list of things to do that would make me a domestic goddess, like bake my first loaf of bread too.

The different styles depend on the type of milk, the temperature you heat it to and what you use to make it curdle. The halloumi recipe I used was milk, vinegar and salt, you put mint in if you want to. Mozzarella you use rennet, and you have to knead it like bread. I got a small book from Lakeland (£3.99) that has 7 different recipes in. Mozzarella, halloumi, ricotta, quark, cottage cheese and a couple of others that I can't remember. I'm looking forward to trying mozzarella, although I think that will have to be an evening project, it looks a bit involved to do with children.

That said, it doesn't taste much like the halloumi I buy in the shops, but delicious nonetheless, and I think maybe I didn't compress the cheese enough in the mould, and I didn't add mint.

Oooh freezing them sounds like a good idea! Then I can bake them after school for fresh biscuits. :-)

I did the washing up, HV was just as annoying as predicted - felt like she was trying to get me to say something was wrong, and then tried to tell me that babies need to be wrapped up warm. Yes, this is my 3rd winter baby, I am aware of this!

Bunting is nearly done, 9 pennants out of 12, I have preschool time sheets ready to go also.

Tomorrow is a busy day, I have to go and reregister the birth of our eldest 2, as they were born before we married, coffee with a friend, then lots of decluttering in the afternoon. DS only half day at preschool, but he is always exhausted and has a good long nap :-)

    I'll make a list later :-)

As for mops, I have a steam one I got of Freecycle a few months ago and it's great! Can recommend...

    Hi everyone :)

I'm a stay-at-home mummy to 3 girls aged 15, 13 and 4. My little one started school in November and since she's been at school I have found it really difficult to get anything done. I'm always writing lists and then when it comes to it I keep putting things off and tomorrow never comes lol!

I really want to get organised this year as I was ill with ME for the last 5 years and it's only been the last 6 - 12 months that I've got back on my feet so I really want 2013 to be a good year for myself and my family.

I'm giving up smoking tomorrow (hence why I'm up so late, chaining the last few in the pack lol!) so I'm not going to be great company over the next few days either!

Anyway, hope you don't mind me joining in :)
