I can write it and love it but I highly doubt I remember anything I learnt about it..other than recognising an iambic pentamater etc perhaps..did I even spell that right?:o:rotfl:If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Mysk: Thank you!
Chicken fried cakes sound good... What are they? x0 -
Leftovers, basically. Mash up all the veg and chicken together - I usually cook too much potato, hence potato cakes! Then add an egg and some flour (sorry, I don't do measurements really - enough of both that it looks nice and sticky) and form into small burgers. Fry. Eat. Smile :-). Kids love them! I usually serve with baked beans or sketty (spaghetti...)0

Sod the kids, they sound great! Hehe0

Have been lurking on this thread, but a bit scared to join. I'm absolutely in awe of how much you ladies get done with much more busier lives/commitments than me.
I am a SAHM to one nearly two-year old, who goes to nursery two days a week so I should be able to be on top of our lives/home.
But my Spring cleaning still wasn't finished in December, I consistently have a fridge empty of the essentials, I did the grocery challenge for several months last year and failed on that. I seem to drown in admin/finance stuff too. I like making lists but some stuff just never gets ticked off and it often feels like I am running on a treadmill getting nowhere. The very idea of trying to fit all this in with more kids/job leaves me with shivers.
As you can see, I'm going to be an inspiration to no-one here but hope some of your motivation, organisational magic rubs off on me this year.
Finally wanted to say "Hi" to some of the ladies I remember from the pregnancy boards Spaghetti Monster, Teenie D and anyone else who remembers me
Well the toast is gone and coffee cup empty, LO is safely at nursery so absolutely no excuses for not tackling some of those things on the never-ending list .....We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

Make-it-3 - why don't you start with a shorter list? Is a long list too offputting maybe? Welcome to the thread, I'm enjoying being more organised, much more relaxing in a Bizarre yet satisfying way. I find that making sure all the bedrooms are tidy once I delivered all the children to school is a good place to start because it's actually not that difficult to achieve.
And meal planning and making trying to get the supermarket once a week has been a really really big achievement for me. It means that I'm not scrabbling around for meals when I'm busy and tired with three children to run around after as well I can just look at the fridge and we'll get there.
Hibernating day so far
1/ picked up bedrooms and put yesterday's laundry away
2/ one load in, one in tumble dryer.
3/ roast chicken in slow cooker
4/ children delivered to school/preschool
5/ lit fire
Am currently snuggling a dozy feeding baby and wandering around the interweb :-)
Things I must do
1/ washing up
2/ preschool admin - I run payroll and I have to do it tonight as payday is Friday
3/ bunting and cushion
4/ HV coming at 2pm to tell me lots of things I'll probably ignore... Most HV's are great, mine has a degree in stating-the-blooming-obvious...
5/ make room in fridge for soon-to-be chicken carcass or OH will pick at it when he comes in and I need it for another 2 nights meals!
Snuggle snuggle :-)

I started with one room, happened to be our bedroom. Got that decluttered and now every morning I spend 2 minutes making the bed, picking clothes off the floor and putting everything away. It takes 2min to keep on top of it. Then I did DD's room. And the the baby's room and then DS room. Now it takes me 10min approx to whirl round them and keep tidy, plus 10mim twice a week to Hoover.
Not been as successful with the downstairs of the house but I'm hoping that the same principles should apply and one day I will manage to declutter the downstairs as well!0
