shhh Lolly, you're putting me to shame, having done the total of zero today.

Right going to get on with my assignment :( really hating this one, feel like I've been doing it for aaaaaaggggeeeessss. On a cheerier note, the cookies are scrummy :)
  • Great day fun wise (caught up with 2 old friends for coffee and lunch :) But terrible day housework wise as done precisely nothing! Lol.

Ah well now snuggled on the sofa as got rotten cramps while OH sorts food :) yay! Here's hoping the cramps might be a sign of things to come as now tapping my foot waiting for LO :)

Doesn't help that a friend due in 3 weeks has gone into labour today! Wondering if jealousy is the right emotion for this? Lol.

To the housework? There's always tomorrow :D

oh meant to say peanut if you want to pm me a list of what you've packed in your hospital bag, I might be able to think of things that you might want to put in that you might find useful, I'm sorry you did ask before but I completely forgot about it.

Hope the cramps are good things, but I had them a few weeks before. my waters broke before I knew anything was happening, and my contractions didn't start for another 6 hours, so everyone is different. Jealous lol, I was like that, I was drinking raspberry leaf tea like it was going out of fashion, to the point I was actually sick, stopped drinking it then! You know what they say, lots of bed time action to bring the baby on!!

oh and just wanted to share, to show that there are some good people left in the world. My neighbour just put my bin back as I struggle with it being so fat and pregnant, and he has just asked me if im going out tomorrow and would i like him to clear the car for me as its covered in 4inches of snow!! how very lovely of him!

It's official - home made cheese is yummy! Am truly shocked that we managed to do it, I've never thought of cheese as something you can make at home! Took about 20min, how cool is that?!?

And it even looks like cheese! I'm a sad case I know...

And I've just got back from my first run since having Annie, I cannot tell you how much I've missed it! Only 2 miles, but it was fab! (And cold. Lets not forget cold)

    List for tomorrow

Absolutely nothing. I need a break. HV coming at 2pm, so Annie and I will take the kids to school and then chill. I'll probably try and do the washing up, and put tea in the slow cooker (roast chicken nom nom nom), but then it's daytime tv, tea and baby snuggles :-)
  • Missymoo, thank you! Let me have a look for the list I wrote and will post it up :) 4 inches of snow? Lucky lady! None here!

Mysk: great you enjoyed your run, I have a few sports I've had to give up in the tail end of pregnancy and can't wait to get back to them :)
The cheese looks amazing!! Did you post a recipe / can you? :)

Also you mention roast chicken in the slow cooker, I've only used ours for casserole type things, wasn't sure how to roast in it! How do you do it?

Plan for tomorrow: Scrub kitchen, meet fellow pregnant friend for coffee to discuss our swollen feet lol and cook steak and ale pie (yummy!)

PLEASE PLEASE read this news story if it was you.... PLEASE!!!!!
FYI if you live in the west midlands its also worth a look at.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • The recipe is stupidly simple

3 litres of milk (I used full fat, but semi works as well apparently)
    90ml white wine vinegar
    Salt to taste

Heat milk to 95degC. Add vinegar and stir in briefly. Wait 5min for curd to form. Strain through muslin. Add salt to taste. Pack into cheese mould and put in fridge to cool. Et voila! Cheese mould was £4 from lakeland :-) they recommend the balancing on skewers method...

And as for roast chicken in a slow cooker - also v simple. Make 4 balls of aluminium foil. Place in bottom of cooker. Place chicken on top (so base of chicken not touching bottom of pot). Cook for 6 hours :-). You don't get crispy skin, but the flesh is melting off the bones. A large Aldi (£4.69) will do us roast chicken, chicken curry next night and then cawl (welsh stew thing - make stock from carcass, place leftover chicken, stock, carrots, celery, potato, carrot and swede back in slow cooker. Takes about 4 hours.). So 3 main meals and I'll probably get some mashed potato & chicken fried cakes as well for small boy lunch on Thursday.

ok, I am REALLY struggling with my assignment, is anyone here any good at poetry? I am trying to decipher a poem and I'm on to the structure, rhyme scene and meter etc, and I am more than a little bit stuck!!!!!!!
  • Yeah, not me, sorry... If you needed bending moment analysis or roof truss design, I'm your girl!

I do like Wendy Cope, though, she's a funny lady :-)
