Mums get organised in 2013

Hi everyone, had a bit of a meltdown yesterday as the housework was getting to me. Actually it wasn't the housework getting to me rather that no-one else shows any interest in having a clean and tidy house than I do.
Anyway, I put my head down and got on with it. Lounge and dining room looking lovely now and the kitchen is getting there. Already done all the bedding this morning - just waiting for drier to finish so I can get it all back on the beds. We have lots of spare bedding but DDs insist their One Direction duvets go back on.
DD1 home for lunch today so that is made and at least having her home means I'll have a proper lunch hour today. I'll use it to clean all the bathrooms!
I've also told myself to spend five minutes tidying our bedroom whenever I go upstairs. It needs sorting properly so I can stay on top of it. Feel its a little two faced to insist the girls sort their rooms when ours is such a disgrace.
Coffee break over - now back to work. The joys of working at home eh!?!0 -
Afternoon everyone:) I've had a busy morning and have achieved a fair bit I've:
-Done the dishes
-Put a load of washing on and hung up another load
-Swept kitchen floor
-Swept living room floor ( I HATE laminate flooring it is the bane of my life, it never looks swept/cleaned -wish I could afford to carpet it)
-Hoovered hall way and cleaned round all the nooks and crannies and the edges, ds helped with that
-Got parcel ready for my Hermes bloke, have been meaning to do that for a few days now
-Been to Lidl for yogurts - they are soooo much cheaper then muller lights and much creamier, they just don't have the same selection
Just away to make some lunch then ds might go down for a nap then I'll sort out stuff for selling (again, they didn't upload yesterday)
Need to get tea made for tonight and then it'll be time to pick up dd from school.
Hugs for everyone who needs them xxx"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Afternoon everyone, I had a good nights sleep (relatively speaking with a 6wk old needing fed!) and am feeling a lot more human this morning. So far today I have
Tidied all the bedrooms
Hoovered all the bedrooms
Emptied all the waste paper bins and the nappy wrapper
Delivered DD to school only to find she has to spend the day in plimsolls as I forgot her school shoes (we walked in wellies!)
Built a snowman
Made banana muffins from the manky bananas - I always mean to do this and never managed before they are actually furry, so am dead proud of myself for that!
Written weeks meal plan and shopping list for tomorrow, Tuesday is my Aldi day
Arranged for DD and DS to go to a friends house tomorrow before school as I have a Dr's appointment at 8.40 - apparently the only one available in the next 3 weeks?!? School here starts at 8.40, so you see my problem!
Done preschool admin
Washed up
Laundry on
Cwtch with the baby :-) (currently in progress - she's asleep and dreaming, all twitchy and cute)
Still to do
Clean the damn fridge!
Mend E's jeans
Mend OH's jeans
Finish cushion
Finish bunting
Tidy living room
Swimming lesson 2pm
DD homework for tomorrow
Make shepherds pie for tea
And my big celebration of the week
We stuck to the meal planner, no takeaways or extras bought! This isn't quite a first, but not far off :-)
Hugs to all who require one,

Just found this on Pinterest, am so doing this with E's jeans!
Maybe not with OH's jeans, he wears them for work some days...0 -
Hi all, just delurking to say hi, I'm still here (trying to be organised!)
Been finding it funny how I can go from being optimistic and on top of things one day, to totally drowning in clutter and mess the next!
DS (23 months) just seems to like playing with his toys that consist of lots of bits (blocks, big lego, loads of wooden puzzles, etc) It's always quite a big project to get them all back together (and find all the missing pieces).
Since last week he's been able to peel mandarins himself, and now gets upset if I don't let him do it - so that results in lots of bits of peel everywhere. Sometimes he'll respond to my requests to put it all in the bin, but somehow this isn't as fun as leaving it lying around...
So basically I can tidy the living room but within 15mins it looks like a bomb's hit......
A recent plus point was that on Saturday I went to the dump/recycling depot with a car full of stuff! (OH had a big clear out)
I also discovered that DD (7 weeks) will often go to sleep to the sound of the vacuum cleaner - so the floors are looking surprisingly clean!
My aim for this week is to get back on track with work a bit - try and do something for work everyday, as well as keep on top of the house!0 -

when it's full I guess I'll start another one.
kingfisherblue hope everyone is feeling better now.
fat chance here - even that would come out the joint money. which come to think of it he had 2 weeks without going out anywhere - so where's the £80 gone
as you can probably tell i've done the finances and paid 1 of the CC's off (as much as I can it's still not showing saturdays shoping on it).
Just the huge balance on the 0% one to go.
which i could pay off quicker but then holiday spends would have to go on the card and that'll acrue more interest then trying to save money.
and just depressed myself that come May my tax credits will apparently be going down nearly £100 love to know why when my situation won't be changing ..... anyone know when information will be available for this new system they reckon will be introduced in April? I can forsea a lot of beans on toast people as tax credits suddenly get chopped with no warning (tho we earn well below the £50,000).
DS2 is supposed to be napping but all I can hear is his police car making a noise (still he's sat on his bed with it so a calm down is better then nothing). better wash the floor before he gets up just so I can bring the buggy home from the school run and drag snow and grit and dirt all over it again.
list updated. I am determined to get last weeks run-overs done today.
starting with transferring addresses into my new smaller and easier to carry address book.
................and must find this years diary.
Where did you find out your predicted amount for next tax yrs tax credits please?
I've been pretty good this weekend with working lots still managed to get uniforms and sandwiches done for the weekSo no stressing in the mornings. Swimming kit has been washed dried and put away ready for next week. Need to sort beavers fees for Tuesday.
I did a "pretend" entitled too (As it looks like we'll separate in the near future) And i was surprised to find that if we do split i won't be much worse off than if he is here. (Unless TC change that next yr) So that should make sleeping easier - been up worrying about it since before Christmas!
I need to crack on with flylady, dress DS2 ready to pick up DS1 from school! DH just chucked his ski suit on over his PJ's this morningI have wrote a list of other odd jobs to do aswel

ohh train companies can never make anything simple can they.
advance tickets for the friday (going) are £57 at the moment - normally £106 (2 adult, 2 children with railcard) - but only 1 of 5 websites can reserve me seats on all trains.
the return journey not yet available to book yet i can book a return ticket for £118 - but no reservations on the return trip.
so gonna have to wait until next weekend and PRAY I can still do decent trains reserved for £118. grrrrrrrrrrrrr - it's only costing £251 for the caravan for a week!!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Thank you - I don't have a clue where i put that! I know it's all changing to universal credits, no doubt we'll suffer.DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

i know - wish they'd hurry up and release the figures. i need to know if we'll be better off giving up a day of work (there's only 1 day we both work) when DS1 starts school or if we can afford to go to work and pay a childminder for DS2 all day and DS1 after school.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored.
