  • Hmmm my idea of a productive morning appears to be teeny compared to you all! Lol.

    So far today :

    • One load of washing
    • Ironing DONE!!! (Happy dance!)
    • Weekend worth of dishes (yes I know! Lol)
    • Made a cake for friends coming over tonight
    • Took chicken out of freezer for tonight's dinner (such a small task but I have such a bad habit of forgetting to do this and then popping down the shop to buy fresh / expensive stuff)
    • Popped to the shops for essentials (again made the mistake of going to local shop and spending a fiver on 2 loaves of bread, 2 pints of milk and some ham. Ugh)

I'm hoping this avo to do...

    • Tidy out under the coffee table
    • Dust front room
    • Hoover downstairs

But for now I've got my feet up with a drink as I'm having a 'hurty day', that's inbetween popping to the loo every 20 minutes (baby has most def dropped).

    Phew!

New key for shed so the DIY bits, paint and ladder are in the there now so the larder cupboards just contains ingredients and kitchen bits:T That's a relief as it was driving me potty:eek:

    Kitchen cupboards more organised.

Built in bin ordered as I just don't like bins sitting there all obvious and annoying, making free space look less free:o They're also prone to being knocked over in this house!

Living room laminate is up and ready to be sold to somebody with a more even floor:rotfl: Apart from the cut bits though,I doubt they'd be of much use lol and keeping some as ' spares' in case the dining room or hallway laminate suffers any damage ;)

Better put that in the shed in a no!

Rugs on the laminate underlay now to keep it cosey- underlay will be taken up and sold soon.

Nice ivory/cream berber carpet ordered, along with cloud 9 underlay at a bargain price:T Those will be here Wednesday morning ready for me to fit before ds psychologist comes in the afternoon- doubt she'd appreciate sitting on rugs and underlay to do work with him:rotfl:

Can I ask your opinions?I have reasonably chunky shaggy rugs,as I like the contrast and softness they give to wooden floors. As I'll now be having carpet in the living room (and a pale one at that- rugs are plum and thick) I imagine they'd look a bit stupid? What do you think? I can't imagine it looking right so do I sell them on too and buy something that'll work better with the carpet?

Think that'll be me done today, unless I get an urge when ds is in bed!

  • Hello from a very snowy norfolk

For the first time in ages I'm feeling happy with the house

    This weekend I've
    Cleaned the kitchen
    Cleaned all the woodwork
    Cleaned the glass doors
Cleaned the living room and dining room
Chucked out some socks that had been in the odd sock back for about a year
    Hoovered upstairs and downstairs
One load of washing which is now on the airers
    Sheets in the machine
    Sorted out the next loads
    Been food shopping
Bought a new rug for living room and a door bouncer for dd.

Oh has made a start in the garden

Shegirl see how it looks, we had a flattish wool weave carpet and a brown shaggy rug and it actually looked fine. Gilly so jealous, hope the snow is on its way here, we haven't had v much a tall, nothing has laid and I love the snow!

Was really lazy and went to sleep when baby did as I know I'll be up Kate writing my assignment tonight. Do feel better for it.

Question to help with my sorting what do you do with all your childs artwrok/priject stuff? My boy is 2.5 and goes to various preschool classes art ones mainly I can no longer get away with leaving the item behind as now he wants to bring it home and show daddy! but some playgroups sometimes do craft days too, ontop of what i do at home with him. I was taking photos and intend to put together in a scrapbook, that seems to work on stuff with me, but from other places he likes to keep or shred and keep the bits he pulled apart!

would a pinboard just for his stuff work??

    How do you store yours????

My three are older than yours, but they each have a length of wool (it's what I had to hand, but could be string/ribbon...) pinned along a picture rail in their rooms, with the little pegs that you see for pegging xmas cards up....this way their fave pics etc from school can go on display, and they can chuck them or change them to suit (and it means I don't feel the need to smother the kitchen with them!)

Having said that, one of the jobs I keep putting off is ploughing through the box/bags of this stuff from nursery/pre-school......I know I need to be ruthless, but it's one of those jobs I just keep ignoring in the hope it goes away.............:rotfl::rotfl:

I should point out that if you only use one peg in the middle of the picture, after a while it will curl in from the sides......good reason to add to the recycling pile!!!! To avoid curling, peg up with two pegs, one in each corner!

Shegirl - where did you order your underlay from! New carpets hopefully for us pretty rapid!

I stripped, washed, dried and remade DS1's bed, will do ds2 in the morning!
Stew and dumplings for tea & meal planned for rest of week.
Sorted out some Cubs stuff ready to be validated at tomorrows session.
Really need to speak to somebody in the know about a session i have planned for Cubs. I have a nigglying doubt that the information i may give could be restricted (Army stuff) So this is vital.
Will put the rest of clothes away whilst boys are in bath.
Tonight i will be in bed at 9.30!
DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Dont cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
