Mums get organised in 2013

Ok so I have rescued the calendar and spent the afternoon trying to make a list of routine jobs.
Can I ask some advice - Where do you start? - Do plan jobs for certain days or do you make it up as you go along?
The lists people make on here have helped me as it is those little jobs I forget or never get round to x btc0 -
I make it up as I wander round the house and see what needs doing. I think different tasks on specific days might work for some, but I don't have much of a regular schedule with the baby yet, so I prefer to things as and when. Although I really must clean the bathroom tomorrow!
As for today, had a lovely day with kids before they go back to school tomorrow. Went to a toddler group, there were quite a few bigger children as a lot of schools here were inset today, then lunch. Baby napped, small boy dozed (he really needs a nap but won't have it!) in front of his favourite DVD (Cars 2) and big girl and I painted her school project (cardboard bicycle) for tomorrow.
I also managed 2 loads of laundry, and packed lunches/bags for tomorrow :-). I'm happy :-)
Tomorrows task on the declutter plan that someone linked to earlier is to clean 2 shelves of the fridge, am on it after school run!0 -
I do a bit of both, I plan for the same things every day as in in the morning, washing, dishwasher, clean floor, Hoover etc. then I'll factor in maybe 2 different hours of jobs that change daily which include, cleaning the bathroom, changing the bed, hoovering the stairs, so really the things that need doing once or twice a week. Hope that helps, it has really helped me get organised.0

i'd written a huge post about my list making...............then pressed the wrong button and lost it all................GRRRR.
I normally have everything done by Monday at 8pm so I can have a relaxing evening before going to work tomorrow but looking at what is left on my list some can be added to next weeks but surveys need doing tonight (runs downstairs to get her shop and scan transmitter she forgot to send yesterday).
I also need to put some music on my new phone before I listen to 'rooster' or 'whistle' one more time.
ETA.... must change avatar back from "3 sleeps to new year"- see there's a reason my lists detail EVERY little thing!!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Evening everyone, hope you are all ok. My kids were back at school today, the older one with much enthusiasm, the younger, less so
Today I managed to make several phone calls, so hopefully they're all out of the way. I've made an appointment for audiology, as my son's earmold has mysteriously disappeared. It's for Wednesday after school, which is a really busy evening anyway, but it is important.
I've done the usual jobs, plus decluttered half of the dining table. It was only half because it is a big job, but at least everything has been put into the proper place. I also did some Rainbow and Brownie planning, as well as sorting the things needed for this evening. There are some great ideas on Pinterest - all the inspiration I'll ever need
. The only problem is, I can't find my badge box. I know it is in the house somewhere, so suggestions on a postcard please
Rainbows and Brownies went well. I run both at the same time, in the same room. The Rainbows are learning about animals this term, with a view to working towards animals from other countries when we celebrate Thinking Day in February. They will learn about camouflage, animal families, endangered animals, and make a variety of crafts. Tonight theey made models from foil
The Brownies have been deciding what they want to do in the build up to Thinking Day, and the result is that we will 'visit' each continent over a period of weeks. The girls will make a scrapbook, sing songs from other countries (they want me to teach them more songs in sign language ), learn to count in different languages, dance, act out stories and folk tales, and try different crafts such as Danish hearts, origami, making rainmakers, Aboriginal painting, etc. There will also be some new games, including one where the girls wrap each other in cheap toilet roll (as an Egyptian mummy). So, a busy time ahead.
For those who don't know, Thinking Day is a celebration of Guiding and Scouting, where we think of other Guides and Scouts from all over the world.
This evening, I have managed to knock a chiuna mug off the kitchen worktop - ten minutes after my son did the same thing! He swept both up for me
Tomorrow I really need to take my old Kindle to the shop where they take Amazon returns. I say old, but it isn't really - it was a replacement, but was faulty. I also have to finish the decluttering of the dining table. The usual jobs need to be completed of course, and if I can get an extra bt of decluttering done, I'll be very happy.

Well DS1 was back to school today but DS2 is still off it so didn't really get much done today.
Finished my cleaning rota, although I'm sure there will be other things I need to add on that I didn't think of but it's given me a starting point.
Cleared out my email I use for surveys, I'm determined to stick to doing them as often as possible this year to earn as much towards Christmas as I can.
I've brought down my ironing pile, just didn't actually do any of it
So this is my slightly updated list, hopefully get more done tomorrow!
1/Iron kids clothes & put away
2/Take bags to charity shop
[STRIKE]3/Phone current insurance company to cancel[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]4/Finish cleaning rota for household planner (that I started to make about a year ago!!)[/STRIKE]
5/Buy new notebook & diary
6/Put things to sell on FB
7/File all paperwork
8/Start 2nd Purse
[STRIKE]9/Clear out emails[/STRIKE]
10/Sort through all our books piled on shelves in wardrobe
11/Find a new, closer dentist
12/Phone up about football coaching for DS1
13/Phone new insurance company
Phoned my old insurance company to cancel but then when I phoned my new company to change an error on the policy documents, my new bargain insurance jumped up an extra £7 per month  however its still nearly £20 a month cheaper than what my existing insurer was quoting so not so bad really...
DH has gone to bed ill and both boys in bed so I'm going to have a sort out of the mound of paperwork that's moved back and forth between the kitchen and living room several times this week!!0 -

No real chance to post today......but have had a productive day! My bedroom is now junk free:j, have done the ironing, 6 loads of washing (stripped beds, changed towels etc) & sorted out stuff for kids to go back to school tomorrow. Have also been to my son's meeting with his teacher to set his targets for this term, and posted cards/collected a parcel from the post office! No wonder I feel shattered:rotfl:
Back to work tomorrow....work bag is ready, just need to sort out what I'm going to wear.....am off to bed shortly, aiming to be up at 6am so I don't have to rush too much before the school run.
Tomorrow I intend to do 1/2 an hour ironing, a load of washing/drying & meal plan/online shop!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
