    > If, as in my case (of a dead wasp in a jar of Homepride lasagne white s
auce) you need to contact the manufacturer.

Er, no...!! Your contract is with the RETAILER, and THEY are liable if the food is substandard whether they made it or not, and even if they couldn't possibly know there was a wasp in the lasagne. This is an age-old precedent from Donoghue v Stevenson, where a snail was found in a bottle of ginger beer, and basically lays out the whole arena of consumer law in one case - the RETAILER is liable, NOT the manufacturer.

As a number of people have said, maggots are very nutritious. I recently watched an episode of that survival thing with Bear Grylis (sp?) on Channel 4 where he ate the things - but not the heads, because apparently they taste awful.

Truth be told, they were probably the healthiest things in the packet. Low in salt and fat, high in protein.

they were not technically maggots,or what i would call maggots to be honest,
they looked like garden worms but a bit like maggots  If you know what i mean.
Wedges were not frozen they were out of the chillers,so no maggies not frozen, they were dead though.
