Hi,
Not sure where to put this but:
Today i went to asda and purchased some american style potato wedges for tea (they are on offer for £1 at the moment but dont buy them.
started putting them on the baking tray and 3 worm type maggot things are in the box,so i phone the helpline people for some advise on what to do and she just said to take them back to the store as they would have to be pulled and analysed.
So i take them back to asda explain what happened and the customer service lady goes OMG  thats disgusting. She gave me my money back (£2 for 200% guarentee thing) and took my name and address.
What i want to know is will i get anything else
I now cannot eat anything for my tea and my DS is refusing to too!!
Will they write to me do you think??

I think I would have taken it further than just handing it in, It reminds me of a time many moons ago, when my Mother bought some Mr kiplings Apple pies and found a fingernail in one of the pies, she simply took it back to the shop, but as the cashier and manager at the time tried to throw the nail away and tell her there was nothing wrong with them, she eventually wrote to Mr Kiplings and they in return, not only sent a rep to the store, but also oredered the manager to accompany them to her house, where he was made to apoligise and gave her a huge food hamper.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I had the same sort of thing from a Marks and Spencer gluten free cake once and have never managed to eat another once since! As I cut my first slice a small brown magotty thing fell out of the cake, I shoved the whole thing in a bag and took it back and got a full refund.
I told her that I didn't have the maggot, but while she took all my details we had the cake in the bag on the counter and we saw another one (or maybe the same one!). I didn't think any more of it but about 6 weeks later I got a letter from M and s with a £10 voucher saying sorry for any inconvenience.

If it is a shop's own brand product, they should take it up with their supplier. If, as in my case (of a dead wasp in a jar of Homepride lasagne white sauce) you need to contact the manufacturer. OK, it is an unpleasant experience, but no system is perfect and there is no point taking it out on the person who takes your complaint - they are there to help you and it cannot be their fault. The shop refunded me the purchase price and gave me their usual £2 voucher. I actually had to send back the lid of the jar (the batch number was printed on it) with the wasp inside, all wrapped up in cling film (I will never complain about opening the post at work again)! However, I did get a very good reply, apologising and detailing all the checks they had done to try and find out how the thing got in there in the first place, plus some vouchers to make amends (or keep my mouth shut, if you're cynical!).
The Mr Kiplings case above also shows how seriously the food manufacturers take this sort of thing. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
The poor girl on customer services was white bless her,she was only young too.I think the woman next to me made it a bit worse, she was going "have you taken photos" "get on to trading standards" etc.
The girl was really sorry but like i said its not her fault.
smileitconfusespeople you have seriously put a seed in my head about never shopping in asda again, its only about 100metres from my window and i can see birds
all over the roof!! its making me feel sick.
whats this about a tesco condom sanwich??
bet it was salty!!!I heart The Capital0
