Did they offer you an amount for you to accept first??? We got our uphold letter dated 5th Feb, we replied straight away so we are near our 12 weeks.
I had no idea what the amount was until the cheque arrived on the 12th week, but it was calculated as per the FOS guidelines so as expected :TUPHELD PPI COMPLAINTS:A&L Loan X4, Tesco Loan, Natwest CC, MBNA CC X2, HALIFAX TMPPRejected & with the FOS:Morgan Stanley CC

So BC rejected my claim on the grounds that it was a postal application and that I had never actually paid any PPI - how they came to this conclusion I have no idea since I supplied a good number of statements clearing showing the monthly payment! My BC account started when I was 18, so a fair few years ago

I sent my complaint on to FOS at the beginning of June 2012. I received a letter in March to say that they would be looking at my complaint soon.
Then at the beginning of April I received a letter from FOS stating that although BC would accept no liability for the mis-selling of PPI, they were willing to make an offer.
Now just the long process of waiting again, but am pleased with the outcome!0 -

That sounds like an auto payout. The FOS give the lender a chance to settle without incurring the FOS fee. Typically the lenders use this if the redress is likely to be in the same ball park as the FOS fee. Logically, your complaint should be rejected but if they do that and the FOS agree, then they still have to pay the FOS fee.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Yes, the Bank accepting no liability is the hallmark of an auto payment without any further investigation. That sounds like an auto payout.
