FOS response, Barclaycard PPI after 12 months

My brother sent a PPI claim to Barclaycard in 2011. The first lot of paperwork was lost by them. He had to resumbit the claim. He waited months and never heard anything from them so he complained to FOS. Early this year he received a letter from the FOS saying that their initial assessment was in his favour and they had written to Barclaycard. Barclaycard had until early April to reply. April came and went. No communciation from FOS or Barclaycard. He contacted FOS again and they said that they still hadn't heard from Barclaycard. Again weeks passed. He contacted FOS again a couple of weeks ago and still they have not received any response from Barclaycard. They said that they would contact Barclaycard again. Apparently they send lots of complaints at the same time so basically your claim could sit in a pile and wait for weeks before it is actually resubmitted to Barclaycard. This seems a ridiculous amount of time. What is the point of FOS setting dates when clearly Barclaycard don't bother to reply? Obviously they are not penalised for not sticking to deadlines either. My brother is beginning to think that this will never be settled.0

Spot on estimate re timescales, letter received from FOS today (8th May 2014) upholding the original complaint. A little over a year since I had the initial assessment in my favour.Highly unlikely. Delays cost them money. Normally, banks only appeal an adjudicator decision if they feel the decision is flawed.
12-18 months to get an adjudicator (that is the bit you have done). Another 12-18 months for an ombudsman to review it.
Barclays now have 8 weeks to contact me with an offer. Although looking at the various threads I guess it will probably be longer.
Still its a move in the right direction.0
