    I phoned Barclaycard today to see if there was any update since the FOS contacted them, they said no update still with the specialist team.

    The chap I spoke to did say that the deadline from the FOS gets ignored, Barclaycard take up to 12 weeks from the FOS upholding the case to them making offers and closing the case. So it seems I will hear no update from the FOS or Barclaycard until I receive an offer :mad:
    its eight weeks today since fos notified bc to put be back in the position i would have been in, chased fos yesterday they have had nothing from bc, had hoped to hear something as some posts saying 8 weekks regardless of fos deadline, but if you are hearing 12 i guess i need to wait longer, what number did you contact bc on? i havent been in touch with them at all but feel as its my claim i should be able to speak to someone for a progress report

    They will prob tell you it's with the specialist team who only the FOS can contact and that you just have to wait until you hear something from either of them. Very very frustrating :mad:
    UPHELD PPI COMPLAINTS:
    A&L Loan X4, Tesco Loan, Natwest CC, MBNA CC X2, HALIFAX TMPP
    Rejected & with the FOS:
    Morgan Stanley CC :(, Barclaycard CC :(
  • FOS told us eight weeks back in August. They missed the deadline in October. Then we were told 12 weeks from August and they missed that one too. Phoned them this morning and they say it is still with their 'specialist calculations team' that no one is allowed to contact.

    We got a letter a while ago saying they would pay before the end of January but still no offer and no update available.
  • I received a letter from the FOS today stating Barclaycard are making a good will gesture (refund of all payments plus interested) and I need to wait to receive figures from Barclaycard :T

    Lets hope they don't take too long, it's been almost 8 weeks since FOS first wrote to Barclaycard telling them to refund ppi

    Excellent news! :beer:
    Hope they get a move on for you, I'm also hoping they're not too much longer with my payment too.

    any news minimaid?
  • I have just joined the forum because I really need the support of people who are dealing with PPI claim from Barclaycard. My history:

    I asked BC to investigate if I had ever been mis-sold PPI on my Credit cards and they sent me a form to reclaim my PPI questionnaire that I could not complete as I had no idea of references etc. In my reply I told them that that they did not answer my questions. They replied that they did not find a PPI a/c with my name on!

    I am of the opinion that BC did not investigate my claim properly and this is partly because I do not have any evidence to argue my case. Please help me

    If you doubt the veracity of their response to your enquiry, you can send the Bank a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter and the Bank have to supply everything they have on file for you for at least the last six years. There is an excellent template here;
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

    It costs £10 and they have forty days to respond. Do note, however, that Banks typically keep records for six years. If your PPI (if you had any) pre-dates this, then it's possible the Bank no longer have records of this finance (which would explain them telling you they have no PPI account for your name).

    So it's your choice whether to gamble the £10 on whether the SAR confirms or denies the Bank's assertion that you had no PPI.

    Please note that if you find that you did have PPI, you do not ask the Bank to investigate whether you were mis-sold-you have to provide your own mis-selling reasons for complaint;

    They can't investigate anything if you don't provide them with enough information.
    You need the acccount number the PPI was applied to, reasons for being missold, and there has to be some evidence you had PPI.
    As above, send a SAR to see what info they do have about you, if that returns nothing, your complaint is over.

  • Heard nothing from Barclaycard but did phone the FOS who said they will inform Barclaycard that I am willing to accept a good will offer, apparently they now have 8 weeks to complete calcs and make me an offer :rotfl:

    It seems to be dragging on, and get told different story's depending on what time of day you speak to anyone :mad:

    On another note a case I sent to the FOS about Morgan Stanley 14 months ago was apparently received a few weeks ago by the FOS and will be looked into :eek: they have had everything for over a year and not done anything with it not even opened a case :(
