Heard nothing from Barclaycard but did phone the FOS who said they will inform Barclaycard that I am willing to accept a good will offer, apparently they now have 8 weeks to complete calcs and make me an offer :rotfl:

It seems to be dragging on, and get told different story's depending on what time of day you speak to anyone
Update on mine, took rather longer than 28 days but (after a lot of chasing) my cheque arrived today. Needless to say it went from the envelope to the bank in record time.

Hopefully this means they're catching up with the backlog so you don't have too much longer to wait.
  • Brilliant news

Think mine will be months off yet but we will wait and see
    UPHELD PPI COMPLAINTS:
A&L Loan X4, Tesco Loan, Natwest CC, MBNA CC X2, HALIFAX TMPP
    Rejected & with the FOS:
Morgan Stanley CC :(, Barclaycard CC :(
  • good luck with barclaycard guys.

had 2 years of being messed around over a ppi claim with them, rejected time and time again over there normal " right training given" ,and "would have been told ppi was optional"

did my claim in branch,as thats how i liked to do things around the time i took credit card out with them.

no proof at all given to me over the 13 months of being messed around by them, so went to the FOS.
8 months with FOS,and in that time no proof from barclaycard given to them why they rejected my claim.
FOS went in my favour, and gave barclaycard til 13/2/2013 (plus extra 3 weeks) to prove why rejected,or make an offer for my claim.
called FOS today to see how it was going ,to be told my claim had been rejected ,as at the final minute barclaycard had proof my claim was a "postal application" and " i'd ticked the ppi box"

WHY COULDNT THEY HAVE COME UP WITH THIS "PROOF" in the last 2 years?????????????. and suddenly have it a few days before they have to make me an offer.
    seems very strange to me??
i think they have made a fake postal claim up using my signature off my "ppi claim form" i sent to them, its the only answer there can be really, just another way barclaycard have found not to pay people out.
Any advice would be helpfull. and if any on here get same "postal claim" pop up out of the blue at last minute like me,please inform me.
thanks ,and good luck ,you will need it.:mad:

Can I ask if yours was always a Barclaycard or if it was Egg / Goldfish / Morgan Stanley First?

Did you send off for a SAR when you started your claim? If so the CCA should have been included in the SAR.

Still no movement on mine....in July its going to be 3 years.

hi. it was just a barclaycard account. didnt do a sar, just sent ppi letter off here, then 18 months of being messed about by barclaycard.
just so annoyed that after so long, and after fos went in my favour due to barclaycards delaying tactics of "no info" on my account, that they all of a sudden out of the blue reveal this "proof".................... feel robbed for a second time.

update: it was 12 weeks last friday since fos notified bc to redress my acc etc had no correspondence during that time and chased fos who sent letter e mail etc to bc to find out what was happening, was going to give it a couple more weeks to get in touch with fos to see if they had any news ( allowing for a lot of letter opening in their mail room)
came home at lunch time to day to find an offer from BC! Needless to say like dr squeeze it was signed asap and sent off, more than happy with the offer , they have asked for my bank details so i have no idea how long payment will take but at least i am on the home run! will be checking in to see how everyone else is doing, rooting for you all:j

That's great news, congratulations. Hopefully only a few more weeks at the most.

I had an assessment from the FoS at the same time as you so there's a glimmer of hope that I might receive something from Barclaycard soon as I'm now at the 12 week point that Barclays have referred to themselves.
  • Hopefully some encouraging information for you guys dealing with Barclaycard. I claimed for PPI on an Egg card which became Barclaycard. Barclaycard originally dismissed my claim, I subsequently went to FOS with identical information plus Barclaycards rejection letter. FOS upheld my complaint. I became frustrated with absolutely no correspondence Barclaycard after FOS had upheld the complaint. I emailed FOS and got no replies. Due to lack of any response I rang FOS and they confirmed all my emails were recorded on my complaint number. They eventually did reply to my emails and were very apologetic for not replying sooner. They advised I wait a further couple of weeks but if I did not hear from Barclaycard by a specific date that I contact them. Within days I recieved an written offer from Barclaycard requesting my bank details if I accepted. After accepting, the money was in my account in 2 days. So keep optimistic and hassle FOS if you are not getting responses from the banks within the time scales that FOS have explictly stated. I seems that Bank respond to FOS not the claimant. Good Luck

    Well done!
Would you mind saying when the Egg card was applied for (I'm assuming it was a pre-ticked box?), when the case was referred to FOS, and how long each stage took?
We're waiting for an Egg/Barclaycard referred to FOS at end of July 2012, I'm assuming we've at least another 6 months of waiting to go...?
Thank you - and congratulations on your win :)

thanks Clangers, i will let you know when i see the money, hopefully you will hear something soon, i have been following you, minimaid firefly etc as we all seem to be in a similar situation,so i hope you get to the end of this nightmare soon, i must say even though its taken a while i am so glad i didnt just accept barclaycard initial rejection.my claim was for two cards and went back to 1995 so my payout was well worth the wait.:)
