Vent all you want, it's a vent board. But people are free to comment on what you say, and not everyone in the world will agree with you.

I found this wepage giving the opening times http://shropshire.staysoon.co.uk/?t=7&i=1592 but it's not the establishment's own website and if I had intended visiting, I think I would have checked the opening times myself.

'Still I guess I am talking to a /troll and wasting my time'

No a regular poster who disagrees with you.

You claim to be a really polite person, yet you have insulted many of the posters here one way or another, just because they disagree with you. You have, in two short posts, called me a jobs worth, a troll, and insinuated i am stealing from my employer by posting on a website when i should be working: i was infact taking my lunch break as irrelevant as that is.

I think your gripe petty. You dont. Yet i didn't resort to name calling.

What has it got to do with you?

How ridiculous, it has nothing to do with anyone on these boards, it was your experience so by the standards of that comment no one should reply at all.

In response to your reply to my earlier comment, the reason you're getting snidey replies (althought half of them are merely just disagreeing with you) is because with all you're talk of getting people shut down etc you are coming across like Walter Mitty's estranged sister. I also think you should start treating people as more than a means to an end, the man in the tearoom is a person too and it's unfair to expect him to keep the place open after closing to accomodate you. I still don't understand why you left it so late, the idea that you didn;t know whether it was Summer or Winter hours is not enough as you knew there was a possibility of closing at 5 so should really have went earlier. Just to save you the bother, i am disagreeing with you, therefore i am a d/head, talking to me is like banging your head off a brick wall and i am obviously a troll. Please hit ignore now.

CCStar, I do think the owner was being unreasonable. He could have explained to you that he could only offer you cake and tea as they close at 5, and would that be OK? Then you would know you would have to leave by 5 and it would have been up to you to decide if you could eat/drink in that time IYKWIM

Still, the business is closing. The owners are taking the name of the tearoom with them, apparently, so we'll know to avoid ANY tearoom ANYwhere with this name :-)

Not sure why people started giving you a hard time (this is the Vent board. Isn't it?). If you suspect that people are trolling, remember the saying: DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS.

Thanks penrhyn for the alternative suggestion.

I was understanding that his last orders were earlier, even though there is nothing on the site to suggest this, and there was no indication to say when summer begun. I have lived in tourist areas and summer season is after Easter.

But to be so nasty and petty to a traveller is hardly good customer relations - I felt so sorry for the customers who were there - I really hope they didn't want the loo after drinking his tea. If I had heard someone be so nasty to a traveller in that way, it would have spoilt my tea and I would have said some select words to the pig!

Thank you for telling me he maybe relocating - I thought he was retiring, so some poor souls have to endure his bad service in another town

Hopefully a talk from the environmental health should bring him back down to earth!

I shall make a point of avoiding it too !!!

I've asked for the tearoom website link only in order to come to a balanced view...sorry if that is wrong here.
and have a dig at me - easy to gang up isn't it!

I have been a member of this board for quite a while and not even encountered these people before and I feel bullied by them for stating I detest bad service! I feel they are saying 'I don't have a right to state how I feel' by saying I'm being nasty for disagreeing with them!!

The whole world can disagree with me for all I care, that is their prerogative, but to think bad service to a fellow human being and traveller is acceptable then I am shocked:eek:

But you've behaved in exactly the same way. This is the thing I've noticed from working with the public is that the ones that complain in a negative manner have little or no self awareness. You have behaved the same/if not worse than the people who have had a different opinion to you but seem completely unaware of it.

I see this from working with the public and it happens time and time again. Why do some people have so little self awareness when complaining?

No one likes bad service. No one in the service industry likes bad customers, rude, aggressive, disrespectful customers, and neither should they tolerate them.

If you vented like you have on here, I can only guess the owner went inside and bolted the door, rightly so.

    Ps, What is a troll?
