I have several male friends but the closest ones are either those I've known from when I was young (uni) or gay....

When you were gay, how did you really feel about your male friends?

Maybe someone could start this up in the discussion forum and leave this thread for the OP to discuss her situation, if she chooses to come back.

I think all the arguing has scared her off!!! Its horrible to think that the poor gal may not want to come back and tell us how it went. If thats the case, then I genuinely do feel utterly guilty...
You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

  • well i hope it is the arguing and not something worse... well, you cant log in and post here in the middle of a huge row with your husband can you,

I cant believe how long this thread got while i was out.... but i would just like to say a proper thanks to all the people who have been defending normal healthy relationships,
I have just read the last 10 or so pages of this thread and sooziesoo (sorry...cant remember it exactly) you have GOT to be a troll,
i find your posts so offensive im almost banging the life out of my keyboard while im typing, how dare you say that 70% of men cheat and the other 30% just havent been given the chance, thats..... disgusting!
can you imagine how mental this place would go if a man posted that 70% of women would shag your husband if you looked the other way and the other 30% are just working through the football divisions first,
you can not generalise like that, yes some people have been cheated on but a lot of us havent,
Just for anyone taking notes, im 30, I have been in 2 long term relationships (one ended amicably after 10 years, the other is 3 years in and going strong) and i have many male friends (my mates ratio is probably more men than women) my OH has many female friends, some of which i know... some i dont and we are both completely secure in the knowledge that neither of us would dream of cheating,
and to whoever it was suggesting that any man would cheat if offered it on a plate by a leggy blonde (probably sooz again  )
i *AM* a leggy blonde, im all his and he knows it....so why would my man go elsewhere :p:D

There's an awful lot of rubbish in this thread, but in amongst it all are some real gems! Here's one:
Seriously my hubbies female friend has a similar outlook as you. i keep saying they get on so well cos she's a bit of a boy and he's a bit of a girl
Seriously, there's no clear line between men and women. We all have bit of each other's traits, to varying degrees. That's what makes us all different.

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or not?

No, I believe that all men have a feminine side and all women have a masculine side - to varying degrees. That's one way of seeing things from the other person's point of view. And that, I think, is the crux of the matter here. Kerry's OH couldn't, or hadn't bothered, to look at the situation from her point of view. She wasn't happy - scared in fact - and that just wasn't fair. I hope her fears have been allayed.
