I'm in the same situation - best mate, he flirts, I don't. When he tells me, nice top, nice hair etc. I just say, 'are you gay?' :D

A laydee should not engage :A

My husband is a friendly sort of person, he often gets text messages from his female collegues. At first I felt very, very threatened by this. My mother married twice - both to men who cheated on her. I had good reason to feel insecure - given my mum's history. However, nothing has gone on. Husband is still faithful, he still sends and receives messages from female collegues. I've met some of them - some are very tactile, some are flirty, all seem harmless and actually I feel my mind at rest now.

However - at the end of the day only YOU know your OH - we can all 'assume' what may or may not happen by our own views. I would say, go for it with a semi open mind. Then once the BBQ is over and the kids are in bed, take a long relaxing bath and play back the event slowly in your head. Were there signs that concern you? Is it all harmless? How did she react to you? If you have areas that you are worried about have a discussion with your husband. Remain factual and say how you feel. Remain calm and not acquasatory (sp?). Then after this see how you feel.

I'd welcome her with open arms and make sure all her burgers and chicken legs were half cooked ;)

seriously though - your other half is showing a terrible lack of understanding.
