  • Usually they give the reimbursement in the dispute before they tell you to send it back, so I don't know that you would get anywhere calling them now.

Interesting.......i have only ever spoken with ebay on the phone before now. the dispute didn't get to escalation stage....

  • Well i spoke with ebay this afetrnoon and they have said that if he doesn't refund my return postage by 20/12 (date of e-cheque clearance) i need to escalate the case and ebay will make him pay for it!
    We'll see what happens.
On a different note i think it's a bit carp that i paid via paypal and he withdrew the funds within 24 hours yet he is allowed to refund by 'e-cheque' and i must wait 8days!!!!!
    Is this normal process?

Yes - unfortunately :(. It's to do with the way Paypal process refunds as opposed to instant payments.

As for eBay, great result - they are becoming more responsive to this; hopefully at some point they will find a systematic way of making people face up to their responsibility.

    Good luck.

    Well done.
I bet the seller thinks that having no funds in paypal means they can't refund...echeques are annoying.
I bet you now get a sob story that they are a kid using their parents account illegally and can you return the money as they've already spent it etc etc etc
  • Refund nor received yet. Is it ok to leave feedback now? (before i get my refund?)
What can i write to ensure it doesn't get pulled by the Ebay mods??

BTW, he's relisted it with more postage and now it's 'good' condition rather than the 'excellent' condition he sold it to me as!!!

  • Just as another point, seeing as he has relisted it (with 3 days left to go) leaving negative feedback at this stage might put other buyers off (He doesn't mention the scuffs in the listing at all)
Is that a malicious thing to do?

Not at all. I'd leave something factual like item had damage that was not mentioned in listing had to return.

Dont mention disputes or paypal though :D

Dont put anything that will get it pulled.

Facts and polite dont sound like a loony.

Item scratched/scuffed yet relisted it as perfect. or good condition whatever they listed it as.
