Free Sky+ replacement box only by email

Well thanks to reading this thread Sky called today swapped my duff Amstrad box for another Amstrad and he fitted a new dish as well.

I've spent ages re-programming all our faves to go back in the planner, now i've got nothing to watch.

hw would u do it 4 a sky box? coz my sky has been messin up no signal hardly, keeps frezzin do u reacon i should e-mail the 1 shown and see if i can get a sky+ box free?

I doubt they will give you a free Sky plus box,they might come and change your normal sky box though. Sayin that,its worth a try!

Im waiting for the reply as my Sky+ is screwed!

Sky engineer phoned last night to confirm our booking today

He arrived earlier than expected

And has replaced my Amstrad Sky+ with a new Pace unit with double the hard drive -

Matter of a couple of days.

We had ours today, he fitted a new disk as well said it was one of the 'old style' dishes and also the 'adapter' was wrong which was the reason why we were getting poor signal apparently. Anyway, our signal is undoubtedly better, it's a clearer picture, things - touch wood - appear to have recorded alright and we hald recorded/half watched Paul O'Grady live and there were no issues.

However it is still strobing a little beind the picture for some unknown reason and it still does flash black after selecting a channel on occasion but if those are the worst things that are going to happen, I can live with that.

yep its takes approx 2 days for them to reply- got an engineer coming out to dort out my sky+ box hurray!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming you have a scart cable connection from the sky box to the TV try a better quality one. you are looking for a nice thick cable, not necessarily gold plated.
