Free Sky+ replacement box only by email

mines a thomson one and its awful!
keeps turning its self off, doresnt record and stutters all the time
im waiting till we move though so i can try and wangle a free installation out of them too

I emailed yesterday and they are coming next wednesday to fit a new pvr-3 box.:j

emailed them last night, got a reply this evening telling me they are coming out next wednesday. not sure if i will get a new box as its subject to stock on the van. fingers crossed

Thanks We have a whole range of issues listed below (all included in our email) and their only response is to blame our DVD recorder for all of them so hopefully we can get a Pace box - before we had Sky Plus we had a Pace box for 8 odd years with the sky digital so we can back up how fantastic they are!


* frequently crashes whilst recording and during playback,
* the sound blips regularly through recordings and live viewings,
* continually flashes black when we change channels,
* recordings fail/crash during the night leaving us with no programme to watch,
* has strobing through the back of the picture,
* plays the sound out of sync with the programme as it 'stalls' on occasion whilst the sound plays normally and
* it is impossible to record a programme and watch another at the same time because of stuttering in sound and picture.

i now have a pace box after a few problems with my amstrad one, just out of warranty it packed up (wouldn't record for more than a few seconds, and problems watching previously recorded progs) i tryed a few things (system restore etc) befor calling sky, the best they could offer me was a replacement (second hand) box for £30, after i came off the phone i did a bit of googling and came across this.

it was for a different fault but i tryed it and it cured all my probs.
so if your box is kaput it may be worth a try, you have nothing to loose.

I was wondering if anyone knew how i could get upgraded to sky + for free? I work at stupid times so miss all the programmes i wasnt to watch and when i am home there is never anything on. I cant afford the huge £99 plus installation fees that they are charging so was wondering if anyone could help me? I also have my broadband and phone through them.
