  • Just from my own experience (rung and said I was cancelling) they sent an engineer out who replaces your unit with a reconditiooned box free of charge.

    Same fault happended again, so I demanded a NEW box when the second engineer came out else I would cancel on the spot, hey presto a BRAND NEW box arrives and all has worked fine for the last year or so.

    If they say they are coming out free of charge, check you aren't getting my old knackered box, which they have bodge repaired !!

    I just happened to spot this thread yesterday and hopefully it will save my sanity after having had the same problems intermittently over the last few months, but 'bigtime' on Sunday :mad:

    So I have just sent an email to Mr Murdoch and hopefully will have some success.

    I also sent an email as I've been having problems with not only the viewing of programmes, but also with the sky viewing card. I was promised loss of viewing credit of 7 days which we never received. Anyway, had a reply this morning and they have given me a month's credit (£37!) and an engineer is coming out Saturday morning to replace the box!

  • I got it wrong mine was on the right so I sent the email before I went away on Sunday. Ive just home and my cleaner tells me they came on Thurs and changed the box - checked email and they emailed to confirm that although they could not contact me by phone they would change the box on Thurs!! very pleased except I lost all my recordings whislt I was away!

    Just to let anyone know that 2 very nice Sky engineers turned up today as promised, and I am now in possession of a brand new Pace sky+ box. They also checked my satellite dish and as it was 'a few millimetres out', corrected it. They even gave me advice on how to improve my broadband connection (I don't get that via Sky!) and various other things that aren't explained in the instruction manual. ALL FOR FREE

    my sky+ box has gone as well but i have had it 18 months can i still send this

    I had my box for 2 years and just lived with the problem for 6 months. I then read the post and immediately sent my email to James Murdoch. I received a reply 2 days later and a free visit was arranged.

    I couldnt be there when the engineer arrived but my wife said they were very helpful and installed a brand new Pace box. They also phoned the Sky HQ and my wife overheard them say that iwas one of the "download" problems again.

    It is a great relief to have a proper working box again - so i recommend everyone to send the email if your box is crap.
  • sent the email on nsat hadone back got a new one comming on thursday. Just to say thanks for helping get rid of that old rubbish one
