  • I'm not declaring yet for this year, sorry! We are saving for a holiday at Whit next year, and the pot is about half full, so we're going to keep going and open it in May.

  • Thanks for the suggestion Sue, I'm going to try that. I've made a slit in the lid of a large jar and taped up the jar lid and i've found another jar to use as the holding jar.

edit - cant get link to work, its the sealed ones out of B&Ms with money on the side - think the £1 shops do them too

Hello - does anyone know how many £1s these jars hold and also 50ps?

Sorry if its answered already, I've started a £1 one and a 50p one this week :)

Hello :santa2: If it's quite a large tin then I know which ones you mean as I got one of those for my SPC last week. I have no idea how many it would hold but it is quite large so I would estimate it as LOTS :rotfl: Helpful aren't I!! ;) Mine has everything going in it but if you were just putting £1's and 50p's in then it probably would add up to some serious money! :T

Very excited and so just wanted to pop on and say I did something great today (yep already and it's only half past seven!!). We don't really have any debts as such but I did have one bill I was paying back. As it was interest free I paid £100 a month and it was going to end in February but I had some extra money and decided to get rid of that debt as a Christmas treat to me!! :xmastree: I know it probably sounds like a trivial thing compared to what some of you are striving to clear but the feeling of clearing something that's been hanging over you like a nasty reminder is probably the same! ;) Now every little extra can go into our deposit ISA. :T
Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!

I don't count my pot but this year I am thinking of emptying it every now and then at the bank and instead of popping it into my regular bank account i will pop it in my ISA, that way I won't touch it and it might get some interest, who knows :)
That's a good idea suzitiger if you can pot a decent amount. My pot usually only gets fed small change and the occasional £1 coin so I will be leaving it in but on the rare occasion I can pot a note I will be putting it into my ISA too. It's an instant access one so I can get to it if necessary but it might give me a few pennies extra at the end :D Any money from eB*y sales will also get banked and the amount added to my siggy so I neither forget it nor spend it :o We're good souls aren't we :A :rotfl::rotfl:
