Very few people will feel the need to shout that the cashback has been paid.

If you completed the form correctly and stuck to the t&cs, you'll get the cashback.

Samsung won't regret this as they shifted a lot of about to be replaced tablets.

I haven't seen it mentioned on this thread yet but a lot of people over on Hot Deals are now reporting being asked for things that are not mentioned in the T&C e.g. a photo of the back of the box or possibly even the tab itself. People who bought via Tesco Direct also seem to be getting conflicting requests even though Samsung's site seems to indicate that the order confirmation email should be sufficient.

I haven't been asked for additional information yet but I'd be interested to hear whether anyone who has received the cashback was asked for the additional information.

    Thanks

PS - edited to add that as a current iPad user I've been pretty impressed with the Galaxy Note 10.1 tab so far. Hopefully Samsung can now work on their customer service. My only experience so far was asking a not particularly tough technical question in the Stratford Westfield store and getting the completely wrong answer confirmed by three different staff.
  • So can I clearly ask then for the one have got there validation claim ID did you do it through online? did it take a while to come through via email. It rather annoying you have to give all your banking details and you don't get a straight forward answer straight away. I don't think it professional. I realise it a busy time but its such a fab offer and think if they knew it was going to take off so good they should be set up to take on the demand of people buying the product. Leaving us in depend all are we getting our cashback ??? would we of bought it in the end?? Yes I love my note but it did sway me to have it for xmas other wise I wouldn't of had it in this climate. Other places give you a reference when you order or book or claim anything straight why couldn't samsung??

There's a pretty long thread in Grabbit and people there have had their claims validated after being asked for extra info/pictures of the device.

I did both claims online and received an e-mail with confirmation and a claim number straight away.

I have purchased 2 Galaxy tablets from JL and was under the impression i would be claiming £100 cashback from Samsung after the 15 days. After going through the process of the online form at step 5 i was asked for a jpeg of the receipt!!!!! How on earth is everyone expected to do this scanning etc. Obviously this offer is designed to make it difficult if not impossible to get paid.I shall be taking this matter further as i think it is very misleading and sounds easy when in fact it is very difficult and badly reflects on John Lewis itself as well as Samsung.

If you can't follow very simple instructions, then it only reflects badly on yourself really.

I emailed my claim on 2/1/13 and have received no confirmation or validation number. I have emailed Samsung but had no reply (surprise surprise!). I have also called them but after 5mins on hold I gave up. Got a feeling that I won't be seeing the £50 cash back :-(

Keith, when you say that you got your validation do you mean that you got the money or just validation email/letter? Did you hear anything from Samsung when you submitted your claim for cash back?

Thanks Keith, Wish I had received some kind of confirmation! It's worrying putting your bank details in and receiving nothing back!

Conclusion ….. Samsung have hired a bunch of unprincipled confidence tricksters who are minimising payouts on the cashback offer and recovering as much money as they can from telephone calls whilst using devious methods to bar the majority of claims.
[Normally promotion management is done on a fixed fee contract so minimising payout increases return]
Samsung need to investigate their puppet company !
Samsung should have their Royal Warrant removed!
That will be real good advertising

Exactly, it is not in their (Opia) interest to make payments:-
Opia are a specialist Sales Promotion Risk Management agency.

Working with Lloyds of London, Opia underwrite the risk of promotions over-redeeming, to cover big headline offers, for peace of mind for agencies and clients handling large promotional campaigns. This enables them to deliver increases in brand sales, through a competitive value proposition.
