  • Last three posts - the comments from the company are a pack of lies....

I called them yesterday and the phone was answered, no greeting, the person on the other end didn't even speak to me, yet I could hear him chatting in the background to a colleague - how professional.

It was only when I said "Hello?" that he mumbled some "Samsung Cashback, how can I help you?" greeting very unenthusiastically.

At every turn, Opia have missed the deadlines that they set themselves in their own T&C's. I e-mailed Samsung to complain and got nothing at all back in response. This is reflecting very badly on Samsung.

It is massively in Opia's interests to delay and not pay cashback as much as possible to make themselves a few more quid. Disgraceful.

  • I never received any validation emails or anything, however on perusing my latest bank statement i noticed £50 credited from Samsung. I sunbmitted my claim in December and was starting to think i wasn't going to be successful as i had also had £100 cashback from new smart tv promotion. But there you go. They are a reputable company and are probably just inundated with claims.:)

I can see your claim was due to be exported on 15/02/2013 . Unfortunately we have been experiencing some delays throughout February which has slowed down the exportation process for some customers. Rest assured your claim is validated and you will received payment. Your claim has been marked as a priority, which means you will receive your payment in 7 to 10 working days.

Apologies for the delay and thank you for your patience.

    Kind regards,

    Samsung Promotional Support.

I'm now a priority!! - yeah I'm not holding my breath

Mind you, they did reply to an email within a day

    No.

    And no.

42 days since validation, no money.

  • I got a fobbing off e-mail reply about a week ago, something about backlog or some such nonsense that I don't really care about (Samsung know how many tablets they sold, so they know how much they are going to have to pay out, based on their experience of cashback and claim %, so it's impossible they didn't have the resources!) but then today.... KERCHING! £50 paid to me!

So Samsung are OK after all then and are just struggling to get through the massive take up and backlog.

I have had 4 x cash back off them a bit late but no problems.
I also currently have a 60 day trial of a laptop and can send it back for any reason for a full refund if I am not happy, (Samsung excellence scheme) Not many companies offer that.
and the tablets are quality too.

  • I'm now on Day 37 since validation and still no cash :-( They've had their 30 days plus the 5 working days for 'delays' so I've emailed them for an update. I'm not impressed. Especially seeing as how I claimed cashback from Currys too for the same tablet, the deal was £80 back - £30 from Currys and £50 from Samsung but had to make two different claims. The Currys money arrived last week, just within their 42 working day deadline and was also organised by Opia! So why the flaming heck couldn't it have all been paid out together. Crazy.

I'm on day 37 too. No cashback..... what a surprise! I will never buy anything because of a cashback offer again, wish I had bought the IPad that wanted in the first place! Lost all faith samsung
