The book is really good, I've only had a quick look through, but the pictures look great :rotfl:

So lucky to be going to a fancy hotel, Cameron House on Loch Lomond :) DH's birthday is on the 2nd and our anniversary is on the 3rd, the stay is booked from the 2nd til 3rd. So I'm thinking nice dinner on the first night for his birthday, then a nice lunch on the second day for our anniversary. Will stay away from the Michelin starred restaurants and pick a cheaper one :rotfl:

  • What a palava with the Ar*gos card ... I've heard a few stories with people being unable to transfer balances so you're not alone!

Well done on getting everything on the 1 card & getting shot of the others - hopefully it'll make things a lot easier to manage:T

I really must start planning some sewing projects - finally got a table to put the sm on so no excuse!:)

I want a sewing table :) sorry, I NEED a sewing table :rotfl:

I currently use the kitchen work top lol! We have a spare room upstairs that I turned into a workshop for dh to fix guitars. But he doesn't use it and won't clean it so I can use it  I might make an effort and get it sorted for the end of the month, a wee hour here and there will make a difference :)

How on earth do you sew on the kitchen worktop!

I used to do it on my kitchen table but free*cycled it when I was offered a pine dresser ... the storage was needed more!

It wasn't until it was gone & the next time I went to sew something that I went .... "ohhhhh no" :o

I really wanted a folding table like this

    9k=6031561_R_Z001?$TMB$&wid=312&hei=312
9k= but the can range from anywhere between £150 and £300

Kept an eye on the 2nd hand shops and have finally managed to get one for £20 :T it's not perfect (funny colour!) but will do fine & I've made a throw for it so you can't see it anyway:o

How do I sew on the work top....... With difficulty :rotfl:

It's either that or the living room floor, so work top it is lol!

Will keep my eye out for a table set like that, would be good to put it away when I'm not using it.

When my dad finally clears out his old bedroom/office (downstairs between the living room and kitchen), I'm going to knock down the wall that's been built to make a hallway, and open the room up again. Planning on getting a nice big dining table for one end of the room, and using that as a sewing table. But that's not going to be this year I don't think. Well, it might be, but it all depends on my dad moving his stuff out.... Which might never happen lol

Just back from idea, bought 3 fabrics, a fleece throw, 3 cushion pads and some candles, £27 minus my £20 voucher, so only £7 odds spent :j

Popped into hobbycraft at the Fort on my way home, didn't see anything though so didn't spend a penny :j

I was going to buy some wool and crochet hooks and crochet yarn. Then I remembered I had bought a crochet magazine with free hooks and two balls of yarn about a year ago and never used it :o What am I like!

  • Someone got my mum the 3 Good Things book for Christmas, but I didn't manage to sneak a look at it before I came home - I'll have to try and get hold of it from the library.

I went into a Hobbycraft for the first time a few weeks ago (we don't have much in the way of shops here!) and was horrified at the prices - they were charging roughly double what I do for the things we sold in common. Maybe try some of the craft businesses on eBay for cheaper options?

Ohhhh you must be pretty near me then!:) (Fort's around 25 mins for me)

A couple of us from the boards have met up a couple of times (funnily enough sometimes at I*kea!) ..... let me know if you fancy it - we're due a meet (usually put an invite on the NSD thread and there were several people interested:)) which I'm supposed to be organising but it prob won't be until maybe beginning of March (I'm not really well enough to do it just now & then will be shattered when I first go back to work ... others wanted to leave it until we're over the 1st couple of months which are often tight for money):)
