Did I not announce that on here?

I CANCELLED SKY TV! Woop! I love sky, I watch loads of channels, watch the movies, use the Sky+ all the time and watch loads of hd channels. But... Things are tight, and getting worse. It needs to go. I've also cancelled my donation to Dogs trust, feel guilty as sin about that, and I cancelled my contact lenses. I use monthly lenses, but I don't wear them all the time. I've got about 7 or 8 pairs in my cabinet, so cancelled my lens contract saving £13 a month, plus I've sill got lenses to use when I want to.

I ordered a book for dh off amazon using my Swagbucks/amazon vouchers. Was £16 odds, a sheet music book of a crazy guitarist he likes. It was delivered today, opened the envelope to find it was a VHS! What's that all about?? Emailed them and posted it back to a Freepost address, they have refunded me already for it. It was listed under 'books' format showing as 'sheet music' :( hAve ordered a different book now, which was a few pounds cheaper as well, so all is good :) Hope it gets here in time for Christmas :)

Only got tomorrow and Wednesday left in work then I'm off til new years eve :T And that's only a 4.5 hour shift, I honestly cannot wait to get a nice break! Hoping to get my hair cut this week, not had it cut since July/August :o will do my own hair colour as well, still have two dyes left when Superdrig were doing buy one get two free :T

    Morning all :santa2:

Finished all my wrapping on Friday, just need to add some pretty string and some bows to them. Will probably do this on Christmas morning so the bows don't end up all crushed :o

I was putting a box into the end door on our fitted wardrobes. It's a three door wardrobe, the first two doors have shelving and rails and the third door is just an open space. It leads into the eaves of the house, we use it for storing boxes as it used to hold the old water tank. Didnt I find two bags of Christmas presents I bought months ago and forgot about :rotfl: Home Bargains were selling off slankets for £1.50, I grabbed 10 of them to give to my sisters, niece and nephews :T Jackpot! Plus there was some stuff I got from Superdrug for 10p including wee compact mirrors, can't believe I forgot about them

All now wrapped for Christmas! Got my two hampers wrapped as well, dh was very proud of how good they looked. Will need to get some pictures taken before I gift them.

Money wise it's not looking too good :( in the overdraft already by about £40. Going to work on my budget today, need to rein things in so I'm not in the overdraft come January.

Had an interesting conversation with Dh the other night as well.... He asked when we are going to start trying for a family  didn't really know how to answer that one. I would love to do it now, but we just can't. I know people say if you wait til you are financially sure you will never have kids but... I just really can't :( I honestly thing it would take at least another 2-3 years before we can even consider having a family. Need to clear the debt, get a mortgage, save some money for when I'm on maternity leave to pay the bills. Dh needs to finish college and get a job so we can afford to pay the bills.

Guess this is the push I need to get my finger out, stop !!!!ing about and get my life sorted! :j

OMG how come I never find bargains like that!:T Can't believe you'd forgotten about them - had you bought other stuff as well?

    Well merry Christmas everyone!

Not been on in a few days, don't know where the time has gone :o

Into the overdraft this month, about £170 just now :( Got more overtime last month than I usually do, so my wage is up by about £200 (i get paid on Monday), so this will clear the overdraft. Could have made an overpayment though

Had to buy a new duvet today! Our 9 month old puppy has learned to jump up onto our bed, jumped up this morning and peed on the bed! Soaked the duvet right through to the mattress topper, luckily not through to the matress. Duvet was really old anyway, looking forward to going to bed now lol!

Been talking a lot with dh about money, life, what we want to do. Both agree that 2013 will be the year we tackle things head on. We want a nice comfortable life together, need to make it happen :T

    Happy new year everyone! :j:beer:

Here's to 2013, the year of changed attitudes and debt busting!

I've been off work since before Christmas, and I've done almost nothing that I planned. No major clean of the house, no defrosting of the freezer, no clearing of the garden rubbish, nothing. I've been lazing about, walking the dogs and watching tv :o

Still, onwards and upwards from today!

What I want to achieve in 2013...

    Learn to knit and crochet.
Meal plan and stick to it.
    Make overpayments when I can.
Organise the garden and plant lots of yummy food.
Try to make presents for birthdays etc instead of buying them.
Budget better and stick to it!
Spend more time playing with the dogs and groom them more often.

That's it for now. Not a long list, but there is lots on there. I feel sometimes I want to do it all, and I give up when I fail at the first hurdle. This year it's all about taking it slow, one day at a time, trying to do a little bit more and make it all more sustainable. Well, that's the plan anyway! :T

Paid my car tax online last night (what an exciting New year's eve :rotfl: )

It's normally £35, this year it was £30 for 12 months :j It's not something I 'budget' for as it's not a lot of money, but I probably should put a few pounds a month by for it. Need to check when the MOT is due, that's another £70 odds. Don't even know when it's due, really need to get more organised cos if it's due near the end of a month chances are it will put me into the overdraft if I'm not careful

    Afternoon diary :)

Hoping for another NSD today, don't need anything as far as I know. And I'm hoping to not leave the house other than to walk the dogs, so that helps :T

Back to work tomorrow, so will make some soup for lunch for the two days, might make some bread rolls as well. And some twinks, can't live without twinks ;)

Done a rough draft of my 2013 budget last night. After all the bills are paid, including grocery, fuel and cigarettes (I know, dh is vowing to quit), we should have about £2.5k left at the end of the year. This works out at about £200 a month, which should go towards paying off the credit card.

I say 'should' cos as it stands we never have anything left at the end of the month. That's because I just buy things without really considering my whole journey on here. That £3 here and £2 there adds up to me being in the overdraft

Right, I'm away to get my butt off the couch and do something :T

    Morning everyone!!

Back to work today after 2 weeks off, really strange this morning getting out of bed when it was still dark :rotfl:

Me and DH got the clippers out last night and clipped the two dogs, saving £70 (£35 per dog at the groomers), go us :j !

Need to get them both showered tonight, didn't want to traumatise them too much lol!

Hoping for a NSD today, don't need a single thing. Brought soup to work for lunch as well as cereal and milk, so that's the next two days worth of food sorted.

Still waiting on TCB to credit £70.70. It says it generally takes 26 weeks for this supplier to credit, but it's been more like 40 weeks and it's still waiting to confirm  Hurry up!!

Off to make a list on the 'What dfw things will you do today'. Been MIA since being off work, need to get back on it today :)

    Oh what a palava!!!

I have £479 on my Argos card, 0% for 9 months, due to run out at the start of Feb. I haven't made a single payment to this card in the 9 months I've had the balance on it (I know :o)

My Halifax visa is at £0, 6 months interest free for balance transfers. I called to transfer the argos card balance to the visa, Halifax said I can't do it, Argos don't allow balance transfers. I called Argos, they said they DO do balance transfers, I just need to leave off the first digit of my card and it will work. Called Halifax back again, nope, still can't transfer the balance, it's not allowed.

So, I signed up for a Bank of scotland credit card today, 0% on balance transfers for 18 months. Thought that I will pay off my Argos card using my Virgin credit card, then transfer that balance to the new BOS 0% card. BOS credit card accepted my application. Called Argos to pay the balance using my Virgin card, nope, can't do that either :mad: Literally the only way to pay an argos card is with a debit card

    I give in!!
