  • Hehe I bet you thought. Cheeky mare, is she saying my house is mess?. No I am just stupid :)
  • The FlyLady thread is so useful, I've just started doing them again and the house is looking a million times better in only four days.

Maybe I should do Flylady, my house would thank me for it :o

Balance transfers all complete, total debt on the one card is now £2912.81. Need to pay £161.83 per month to pay it off before the 0% runs out.

Been looking at gas and electricity suppliers. Not really sure what I'm doing tbh, I've never had a contract for this before :o I know what my dad pays for his monthly direct debit, and I know this is a more than what we use each month. Been using those price comparison sites, just not sure what is and isn't a good deal tbh. Need to do more research on this me thinks :-)

Bought some wool off amazon yesterday, bought with my swagbucks vouchers :T

And that, my friends, is my Virgin card cancelled :j:T:j

Sky has also cancelled, so strange now not being able to pause the tv :rotfl: Having to make a cuppa during the advert breaks now lol

And I have a confession :o A friend owed dh £20 for something nearly 6 months ago. We had forgotten about it, but the friend gave him the money yesterday! And we ordered a Chinese takeaway with it :o I just reeeeeally wanted veg and black bean sauce :o £14 we spent which is terrible, but the worst part was it wasn't even that good :rotfl:

Last Chinese I will have this year! And that's a promise!

Oh my what a day! Me and dh started gutting the kitchen today, still not finished!

Dh had the bright idea of gutting the house, start from the kitchen and work our way back to the living room, then upstairs. I said that we should aim for one room per weekend and properly clean and tidy each room (clean windows, skirtings etc as well). Dh scoffed at my idea, he was planning on doing the whole house today, that was just far far too ambitious :rotfl:

Black bin is now stuffed full, need to be careful with rubbish as its not collected til this Friday :o Kitchen is looking great though, although we have discovered that 'little bit of plaster bubbling on the wall' is in fact 'the whole bottom of the kitchen is damp and needs serious work' we ended up knocking the artex off the whole wall, taking off the damp plasterboard as well, half of the wall is back to brick it's that bad :( Dh and the neighbour are going out tomorrow to rod the drains and down pipe, think that's the problem. Then looking at redoing the rough cast on the outside wall, damp proofing the inside and redoing the plasterboard etc inside :( No idea how long it will take or how much it will cost. Lucky we have lots of 'handy' friends who can help out, it shouldn't cost too much :(

On a positive note, got nearly 2kg of carrots at tesco for 23p and a bag of coriander for 25p, making soup tomorrow :)

    Morning diary!

Okay, just checked the bank, we have £395 left til the end of the month. Sounds good, but we have £200 to pay tomorrow to the guy fixing the damp wall in our hall (not the kitchen which is also needing work :(). So that leaves me £195. Suite payment is due out on the 22nd of £45, that's me down to £150. Car needs it's MOT, that's another £50, now down to £100 to last 2.5 weeks :(

Need to do a proper and full store cupboard list, I need to know every single thing I have hiding in the cupboards and fridge freezer. Hopefully I can cut back on the grocery budget so I'm not into the overdraft this month!!

Still waiting on topcashback becoming payable :(
£1.60 away from earning £40 on onepoll, haven't had a survey all weekend :(

Small spend today, need chicken and diluting juice. A friend is coming over to help us strip what's left of the wallpaper in the damp hall for the guy coming tomorrow to fix it. I've promised dinner in return for my friend doing my share of the work :rotfl:

  • We've got a really tight month here also. Trying our best to stick within budget and not go over. But gosh January is a seriously long month right off the back of Xmas and new year :(.

So typical that your kitchen had issues always the way. The minute you start getting on track and think right will tidy house you uncover more cost and issues. We've had the exact same Sod's law in our house.

On a positive note massive well done for getting all balance transfer things sorted and cancelling the empty cards :j
