That's a shame. The same kinds of issues are going to pop up on all three boards. Previously there's been one well-populated board with lots of traffic, now there are going to be three lesser used boards.Mortgage when started: £330,995

Copied from Site Feedback section ..... as I'd totally missed this thread being a singleton and all
Seriously NOT impressed MSE
Hope you're going to get this sorted out ASAP
Doesn't even make any sense
Money Saving Mums, Dads and Grandparents etc - what or who is an etc?
- Health, Beauty & Fashion
- Olympic Legacy
- Pets & Pet Care
- Deaths, Funerals & Probate
Money Saving Couples
Money Saving Singletons
So ..... are Couples or Singletons not supposed to have any Pets .... or have any Health, Beauty & Fashion queries .... or never have a death to deal with?
I couldn't even find the Pets board last night ...... as I'm afraid I would NEVER think to look under "Mums & Dads" for it - it doesn't belong there!

If, for example. someone posts asking for advice on presents for a 12 year old boy, I might well offer advice based on my nephews. Likewise someone's advice about their wife might well help me with a question about my sister. It all seems really odd. And where do queries about friends go?
Precisely .... just because I'm single now doesn't mean I've always been or that I can't offer advice to someone going through a particular thing in a relationship that I may have gone through myself:mad:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I am on the "against" side as well, change was not needed or necessary.0

It's all most peculiar. The only effects will be that new threads will get less coverage (and possibly an increase in advertising revenue for the owners - although I'd never click on a banner add).
For me, I only regularly post on three forums here - the "families", the arms and discussion time. I rarely create my own threads but do enjoy browsing the familes forum - and now it's split up I'm not going to want to be flipping backwards and forwards all the time to read the different categories.0 -
I would also like to object to the new changes.
The board before changes was a place where a wide range of people in all sorts of circumstances could offer and receive help on a broad range of subjects.
There have been threads from people considering whether they should have children, some were single and some were in a couple - where would they post now? Would it be more helpful to post on the singles, couples or parents board? It is now just confusing!!
Also what if you have a question regarding a friend or a problem at work – where would this post go? Your friend could be single but you’re in a couple so which board is the right one?
Can you not have a pet if you are not a parent? (My fish best go then!) And surely death plays a part in everybody’s life at some point?
Surely the replies would be most helpful if it was on ONE board and allowed EVERYONE to see the thread and reply if they felt they could offer help?
Otherwise you will either end up with three empty boards because nobody can be bothered to work out where is the right place to post for each question they have or you will end up with three boards that have exactly the same questions on as people want a wide range of responses and will post the same question on each board to achieve this.
Right ...... now I've had my rant I'll sit and wait for the boards to get back to how they were as I really don't know where I fit in at the moment!!2014 - This is Our Year :j0 -
Please put it back.
I am a Mum, and part of a couple
I was once Single
I have Pets
I am affected by Death
I am interested in Health and Beauty
I have issues with Grandparents / Parents / In Laws.
I can help those TTC
I can help those who have suffered from Miscarriages
I can help those who want gift ideas
I want one board for Family, Friends and Relationship issues where I can browse the threads that interest me, comment where I can help, and feel that I am useful.
Please put it back as it was - or at the most, put in subsections for common issues such as TTC etc.Sealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060 -
Hi, I promise there's no hidden issue here, the new boards really are just to have a place where people can ask MoneySaving questions relating to their own circumstances and help encourage more questions and more responses. We really don't do anything with the intention of "let's annoy our forum users".
We've been reading the feedback and are making some more changes today but please do be patient, it takes a little while to make them so posting on the forum asking why something's been done, just 5 minutes after the first change when we haven't finished doesn't help anyone.
Thank youCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Nice - the TTC threads have been moved to "Couples". Just to emphasize how much we are not part of the 'real' families threads.
Oh - changed now. Thanks! Much better.0 -

Thank you
A really good way to avoid that would be to talk to us before making changes, you could have saved yourself a lot of hassle.
The new death and wills board is a great example of a positive change, random sweeping changes with no warning or discussion are not so good.0
