they're using the forums as market research of some kind, to find out what the burning issues are for different groups of people.

Well, that one won't work very well unless they clamp down on multiple identities!

Anyone can post here - as anyone they want to be. It's hardly a good way to put your finger on the pulse of 'singleton thinking', or 'married matters', or 'divorce(e) dilemmas' etc.

Create an AE and start a thread which runs:

"I'm a regular user under a new name so I'm not recognised, because this topic is so embarrassing.

I think I might have become an 'etc' [fill in the rest of the post with a myriad of deeply personal details, which will inevitably identify you to anyone who knows you]."

You will either be reassured that you're not an 'etc' - at which point you can argue even harder that you are, you are, you are! Until you believe it - even if no one else does!

Or others will accept, and reaffirm, your status as an 'etc'.

    Sorted.

But I don't think I could cope with being cast out if it turns out I'm not really an etc!

Yeah, and don't forget to reply to your anonymous thread with your normal username then panic and/or deny all knowledge.

Oh,and start your thread saying you're under a new identity because the family/friends involved read the boards and they'd work out who it was but give enough detail for those people to work out who it is in an instant anyway thus working out who you are..

As for 'soap opera' threads,I reckon mine back in feb probably became one of them:o Don't ever go doing one on purpose!!!!!

I haunt the Families Board which is full of good threads.

    But it doesn't exist anymore!!!

There's a board for those of us who are single (that hardly anybody likes).

There's a board for those in a couple.

There's a board titled 'mums, dads and grandparents etc' which is for anything related to the kids etc

Not quite a board I'd say is 'full of good threads' to just read either as it was primarly assisting people with relationship problems, but each to their own!
