LINKSYS PAP2-NA UNLOCKED. How to access control panel?

Before I had read your reply, I had earlier looked inside the BT wall socket and surmised:
pin2 goes to pin2 wall socket
pin3 goes to pin3 wall socket
pin5 goes to pin5 wall socket
Pins 1 and 6 are blank on the extension wire plug.
???
Reading your reply only two wires need to be connected? and it does not matter which way round?
The wall socket has three wires connected.
When I get a tool to push the wires into place, I'll give it a go, while disconnected from the BT line of course!0 -
The incoming BT line into your house is two wires, A & B, these go to 2 & 5 on the master socket.
What BT used to do was then wire extensions from the master, 2 to 2, 5 to 5 and also 3 to 3 and sometimes just for tidiness 4 to 4.
Pin three wires the 'bell wire' the vast majority of phones don't require this, only some real cheapo made to UK use only phones, you'll soon know as although the phone works it won't ring. Virtually all phones now have their own ringing circuit and BT even advise that for those with broadband to drop the bell wire.
Doesn't really make any difference which way round you wire the 2 wires from the RJ11, just as long as they go to 2 & 5 and the phone socket. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Just been reading:

Looks like the pin numbers are the other way around.
I'll digest your reply tomorrow Bextech, I need my beauty sleep right now.
Thanks BTW.0 -
I have now moved the extension cables from the BT wall socket onto a new separate wall socket I bought.
So the upshot is that the new wall socket has the cables from the PAP2 line 2 into the wall socket where the ext. cables are now also connected. It all works fine. I can dial out and get incoming no problems.
On the BT side though, the phone connected here does not work at all. No dial tone and when I dial the BT number it nothing rings although the number has dialled and I can hear the ringing tone.
The BT wall socket (the type that the bottom half comes off) now has nothing connected on the terminals marked 1 to 6.
Any assistance would be welcome.0 -

You could first check a phone in the test socket (the socket that appears when taking the faceplate off) if there is still nothing, then you could unscrew further back and check the A & B lines haven't come loose.

Tested and all is working as it should.
I had done it all correctly, but was a bit of a dipstick when checking the BT wall socket!
Thanks BexTech.
BT will get a phone call soon canceling their line.

Hi
Totally new to this forum. My question might be very stupid. But I'll appreciate your help. I have a PAP2-NA Unlocked ( bought from ebay). Can it make free calls? How to configure it? I live in Canada. Thanks for your time.0 -
