Hi all,
New to this stuff. Sent request for info to HBOS for last 5 years. Will probably be looking for advice in due course. Good luck to everyone hitting back at the banks.0 -
Halifax have been telephoning me twice daily as I was over my overdraft limit. I told them the same story every day ' I wasn t refusing to pay them just stalling as they were stalling me by not providing a list of charges, and that when they answered my letter I would deposit money in to my account ' Today I finally flipped and told them that I was going to apply to a magistrate to get a restraining order to prevent them from phoning me. I then thought I would keep phoning them up till I got a result. I got through to a really helpful advisor who immediately refunded the past three excessive charges to bring my account back in to the limit and therefore get the arrears dept off my back. She then also agreed to supervise my claim herself and that I would receive an offer within 4 weeks.
I had only sent the first letter asking for a list of charges. Hopefully the HBOS will be true to her word0 -
can you confirm if you were able to claim for BOS account Maintenance charges. I have loads.
Thanks and congratulations0 -

This is the crdit card centre you will get the statements but it will take a few weeks longer.
The address they publish on the website is the wrong one for personal banking you have to wonder at their commitment to customer service:beer: "I'm Just A Demin Boy"

hooray! got a result from BOS. I claimed for 2 seperate accounts my one was for £1174, and got full settlement, and hubbys was for £591 and we just got a letter today saying we are getting full refund with this a/c also. All it has cost me is £2 to send 2 recorded delivery letters. Thanks Martin for this fab site xxxxxxxx0

daughter claim being ignored so she phoned and was told 6 week backlog
they said would send her a list of charges for last 6 years, NOT the statements, to save time. Will still run them through the interest calculator though.0 -

Congratulations, what would be really handy is if you could advise us on how long this process took. I have currentley been going through this for 2 to 3 months and expect a reply by the 8th of may. "I'm Just A Demin Boy"

It took me 8 weeks for hubbys claim as he had all his statements, i sent initial letter staing they had 14 days to respond, and got letter back on day 13 saying they legally had 8 weeks to investigate. the time was due up yesterday but we got letter last friday saying they would pay up.
My claim took longer, took them 67 days to send all statements, then further 7 weeks to investigate, again got letter 2 days before deadline saying they will give us refund. hope this helps xx0
