Thanks Edinburghlass
That would certainly be more straightforward - sorry if it looks like I'm repeating myself above but our posts crossed!

Hi i really need some help.Am having a problem with Bank of scotland requested 6 years worth of statments but have only been sent 2.5 years worth.
I have tried to contact the date protection department several times and did initially recive an answerphone message saying i would have the information by sunday 31st of march as 40 day deadline would then be up.
Have now left 5 mesaages on there helpline number and no reply and no bank statements.Could somebody please advise me of the next course of action to take?0 -
I have requested the bank of scthat my otland to supply me with my bank charges for the past 5 years, they have not given me this information but instead have offered me a payment of £619.00 to be made in full and final settlement of my complaint,as a gesture of goodwill and made without an admission of liability to resolve my complaint. I suspect bank charges would have been more than this offer.since the upper limit in sscc is £750.00 should I accept this offer or is there a way I can claim the full amount. I have 14 days to contest this otherwise it shall be payed into my account and the bank shall assume the matter has been resolved:0

If you think that your charges come to more money then i would refuse the payment and ask for the charges statment again. I have been trying for a month to get my statements and so far they have only gone as far back as feb 04. My mother has had a lot of success with this through perseverance and stubborness so i am following her lead.:D0

When I informed them that I was a poor postgraduate and would only be able to pay off half the amount in 6 months they would not accept it. The advice they gave me was not to pay off anything till they called in the debt collectors in 6 months time, absolutley fantastic customer service I am sure you will agree.
Hi, had to reply to this one. I had an overdraft of £3,000 with BOS and repaid it over late 2005 to late 2006 at the rate of £300 per month. In doing so, my children and I had a thoroughly miserable year - Less than £50 per week for food for the three of us - they are two, growing, teenage boys!! and even with being really thrifty this was very hard - also NO new clothes or shoes for any of us for a year. During this process BOS were really nasty to me on a number of occasions - they kept 'reviewing' the amount I had to pay each month every three months and were always pressurising me to pay more - one guy told me that on my income I could afford way over £300 per month - given the state the children and I were in - with no extras at all and very basic, cheap food, I was pretty annoyed. I was also really saddened by how bullying they could be. Equally, on other occasions I dealt with some really nice members of staff who gave me a pat on the back for being so good at getting things back under control. I have paid off my BOS overdraft, but I am bitter - over £7k in charges, on top of overdraft interest on my account! And being bullied!0 -

I received a letter yesterday offering me a refund of £4,500, and I am unsure whether to accept this or not. Has anyone declined an offer from their bank and taken it to the next stage in the process in order to reclaim the full amount? I am so unsure as to what to do. I will be grateful for any comments on this matter.
Don't accept it, I was offered along same lines, rang them up and ended up coming away with my initial requested amount!.. I think all offers will be considerably less.:oWe will win this! we will!.... and we did! :j0 -
