    You seem confused
you sold your item on eBay,
    not RM auctions.com
So what RM say and what happens on eBay are not one in the same
you will be refunding the buyer before 15 working days, unless you can prove delivery
  • I have to respond to the claim before 22nd Nov. Refunding is one option, adding tracking information is another.

If I refund before and then the coat still arrives my claim against the Royal Mail will be void. No chance I am risking that.

Just for a moment put yourself in your buyers shoes.

The purchased an expensive item from you which they have not received. You want them to stand out their money for 15 days?

I wouldn't do it and I'll be amazed if your buyer continues to play ball. Either way as has been consistently said on here you are more than likely heading for a series of 1 stars and Negative feedback.

The best thing you could do now is try and salvage the situation by apologising profusely and refunding them today. It might save your feedback.
  • I'd rather make sure I can get my money back for definite. If I refund and package comes through tomorrow then I'll have lost it all.

I must admit, although your handling as been wrong - there is probably no advantage refunding now - as a claim as been opened and you have probably already earned a feedback thrashing.

You may aswell wait until the last minute.

    Hi guys,
Last Saturday I posted a coat that I sold on ebay 2nd class recorded delivery through the Royal Mail. The coat sold for £39.99.
I kept my proof of postage and it was definitely send to the right address. However whenever I type my reference number in to the RM website it just says that they are processing the order through the system.
I am in daily contact with the buyer and it has again still not turned up today and it is looking like it wont. The posty leaves no notes etc and his sorting office also has nothing.
What should I do here? I did state "no refunds" in my description but that was due to people in the past just buying things idly and then sending them back. I don't feel I should have to send him a refund though as ultimately I posted my coat in good faith, still have all my proof of postage etc.
What should I do to get this resolved? Can he claim compensation? Is there a standard way to deal with this?

2nd Class Royal mail then it is still early days, you and the buyer have only given it 2 working days even Royal Mail say "We aim to deliver your mail within three working days of your sending it." but that is not a guaranteed delivery time frame and not all Recorded Delivery items seem to track, often the person could have received the item and it will still show as 'processing'.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • I will wait now. End of the day they never even asked for anything before making their claim. I was the one who originally offered a refund...

They have been awful to deal with as both husband and wife use the same account and send me different messages. Infact the husband went to dispute, then the wife goes to claim on the same day. Then the husband comes back on ebay to say his wife did the "paypal stuff" not him....

There is no way I am refunding and quite frankly if they give me a neg then meh...they never even asked for a refund at any point.

Has your buyer opened an ebay claim or paypal claim?
  • now I get the following message through ebay:

"i was talking to you my wife done paypal but i dident know she had gone to paypal"

Meh, I can't win. I have an angry wife on paypal taking me to claim the same day a dispute is raised with no communication about how she would like to resolve the situation ie refund or wait few more days.

Then I have her husband who seems happy to cooperate.
