I just find it hard to believe that I should be expected to refund the buyer now.
If I do and then the coat arrives I will be completely screwed with no coat and no money. I have suggested to the buyer we wait and ultimately he wont be out of pocket anyway as either the coat will show up or paypal will see the non-delivery tracked and refund him.
Also, it might sound harsh but I don't trust this buyer. He and his wife seem to have access to the same account, send my different messages too which is confusing. He already has 2 negs this month alone. Plus, he seems to say everything I say is a lie. He says he knows the 15 day RM thing isn't true and has basically threatened not to return any RM paperwork....
So refunding him seems to have gone out the window anyway. I don't care about the neg, just the money now.Debtfree!0 -
O.P. - I do feel for you as you have got yourself into a bit of a pickle.
I have had a few unpleasant experiences on Ebay and quite a few of the problem buyers have had feedback set to private - however I have found that Ebay/Paypal will always side with the buyer.
If I were you I would refund and move on. And put in a claim with RM when the time comes - I have only had one failed claim (I have made one a month on average for the last 2 years)0 -

My husband and I share an eBay account. We share a home, a bed, 2 children and a bank account so why would it be strange for us to share an eBay account?0 -

Just as I thought the penny had dropped with you....
Put yourself in the buyers shoes.
Do the decent thing.
I suspect you won't do either.0 -

Out of interest is there anything that can happen if he later is proven to recieve the coat?
You could get their details and call or email tomorrow, after checking if delivered, apologise for the coat not arriving and say you will refund but if the coat is delivered you will re-invoice through paypal.0 -
Op any chance you can tell us your user ID on ebay, then.
Just in case any of us ever decided to buy a coat;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Only a fool would refund now, leaving a buyer with 2 negative feedbacks against his name the money and the product and the potential to be unable to even process a claim through RM.Debtfree!0
