Hi everyone - just had my lunch (cheese and tomato sandwich and two slices of yoghurt cake) in the garden and came in to make a cuppa and thought I'd just catch up while the kettle is boiling.
Essex-girl - good luck at the hospital
jrc16 - hope your DS is on the mend
Moggins - really hope the job went well for you!
Cmathews - Caroline, welcome and hope you get your eBay prob. sorted out soon. You'll enjoy this thread - I do! They're a lovely bunch of OS's here!
Welcome also to tine
Pooky - same dinner as me tonight (thanks to Amie posting the recipe! ) Yummy!!
Churchmouse - hope your day gets better. My poor OH sometimes says 'have I done something wrong?' when he hasn't. I get impatient with him for no good reason and he's a lovely bloke. I think it's when I feel I haven't had enough time to myself because, when he's home, I can't concentrate properly on any of the things I want to do that don't involve him!
Yet he's very kind and patient with me - not fair, is it? He's out at work right now and I'm so glad I made cakes yesterday specially for his packed lunch. They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!
Haribo - absolutely loved the smilies!
Scuzz and Loubee - not long now - have wonderful holidays, both of you!
Amie - didn't watch that programme but I think Anthea has mentioned it on Perfect Housewife. Incidentally, I love her programme but isn't she just so b****y perfect? And that house!
dannahaz - definitely get your leg checked out asap especially as you've had probs before. Keep us posted.
Well, I popped down to the village and called in to the butcher - didn't intend to but saw they had some sausagemeat (bought a pound for £1.98 to make a meat loaf) and also bought some lovely steak mince. They had a brilliant leaflet with beef recipes to celebrate St George's day and a lovely freebie magazine called Tuck-in - full of lovely recipes. They said the magazine is produced by the people who supply them with all the meat. Will definitely work my way through them all and report back! Worth looking out for the mag if you can find it where you are.
Bought some ring binders for my ever-increasing pile of paperwork that needs filing. If anyone has a filing fairy, perhaps they could loan it to me? Ring binders are cheap in Sainsbury's at the moment and I also picked up a large serving spoon that I've been looking for for ages and did not want to pay too much for - their price .99p, plus two tiny fridge magnets that are really photo frames for .39p each and I wish I'd bought loads more because they'll make good pressies. Might pick some more up next time I go in.
Also bought some craft paper - two packets of lovely expensive-looking paper for £1.00 each and three good-sized packets of stickers (one flowers, one birthday symbols and one cars, trains and boats, also £1.00 each) - ideal for making cards - if I ever get round to it!
In my local Barnardo's charity shop they have loads of little books called '100 Tips for the Frustrated Slimmer' - original price £1.99 but their price .10p each! Picked up a couple for my sisters (who hate me because I don't put on weight even though I'd like to).
Anyway, here I am prattling on - the kettle's probably gone cold. I must take in the first lot of washing and hang out the next lot. Sun is beaming down but I must force myself to stay in and get on with the paperwork. House is all nice and tidy because I was able to get an early start with OH going off to work early so I'm going to work for the next couple of hours and then take a break.
Have also checked my wheelie bin now it's been emptied - I always check it now in case 'they' leave one of those microchips hidden in it!)
Anyway, hope the rest of the day goes well for you all.:j :A:hello:  :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

The in-laws dog will go home either late tonight or early tomorrow - it's been fun having a dog for a few days (kind of like being a grandparent I should think - you know you can give them back).
My floor is an absolute wreck what with having the dog stay, and I refuse to clean it till he's gone - I'm hoovering but I'm not wasting my time washing it

Hope everyone had a good weekend, I went to see my parents. Lovely to see them both, they were slightly mad, as ever. I also managed to eat my own body weight in Mum's HM chocolate cake, feeling fat but it does remind me where I get my OS streak from. Rude not to reacquaint self with every aspect of my roots
I am off to sort house out a bit, do some more washing and pack for going to Spain tomorrow. Am going with a friend and we are staying in the house her parents have there, we will read books, eat yummy food and do not much else (apart from some drink some wine perhaps).

Got some of last weeks roast beef out for supper with a salad and a couple of jackets spuds with some more of yesterdays rhubarb and apple crumble, should go down a treat. At the rate I am going I will not need to go shopping until the end of the month, so will have saved over £100 out of this months budget, it will help to pay the overdraft.........believe me its gone up with a woomp over the past 10 days...
Right OH has gone down to the bowling green to oversee a group of people with physical disabilites who are having a go at bowls........someone from the club has to be there in case of problems.......so I am going to put my head down for half an hour. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Hi everyone,
Well this morning I had the interview for the internal promotion I want. There are three external applicants so fingers crossed. It seemed to go quite well, at least if I don't get it I'll still feel that I did myself justice.
Had a lovely weekend with DD anf B/f hemming curtains and making CD storage shelves.
Moggins, hope thinge went well today.
PP hope you feel better soon.0
