    Hi there everyone.

Wow - can you tell that school is back? Lot's of early birds today :D

Well following on from last night LO didn't go off until 10.30pm and then half an hour later fell out of the cot/bed. It's a good thing it's only 6 inches of the ground. We were going to raise it to 'bed' level but common sense prevailed fortunately.:T :T :T Our kids are not back until tomorrow as there is a teacher's training day today. Hopefully the new school will phone today and I can get the move organised.

I am going to top to toe the house with a hoover and duster, get the wash on the line (it's cloudy but no rain forecast) and then potter about. I think we will have left over bol.sauce for lunch and Pork chops and baked potato for tea with tomatoes and coleslaw.

Good luck today moggins, Mrs-mix and PP I hope you both feel better soon.

123.jpg Hugs to all who need one, have a great day,

    Smoky. xxxx

PS AMIE I am forever starting diets and really lack motivation, I'll be your pm buddy if you like and we can motivate each other and maybe hook up on the loose weight thread? I know a few posters do this and it's worked out really well for them.;) There's the Murphy's no more pies club in the arms too which looks really nice and supportive.:T :T :T Smoky.

  • Hello everybody

I've been lurking around the OS board for ages now, but had decided that today was the day to start my plan for a more OS life for me and my family.

I had an early night last night, and made out my 'to do' list before going to bed, all ready for a bright early start this morning and a productive day.

Woke up to lovely sunshine, and decided to check my emails with a cup of tea before making a start on my day - and found that my Paypal account has been hacked into, and over £1,000 has gone!!! What a hideous start to the week, and to my OS plans. Have spent the last two hours on the phone to the bank/Paypal/various other banks to check nothing else has been hacked into. Am really fed up. On the plus side, everyone's been really helpful, and the money should be refunded in due course. It's made me really concerned about the safety of the internet though - all my virus/spyware protection is bang up to date, and I thought I was protected - shows how wrong you can be.

Anyway, I'm not to be deterred, and will now go and get dressed, and try and get on with my first OS day.

    Bye for now

Hello Caroline and welcome to OS. :hello:

Gosh, that's awful about your Paypal account. I've just checked mine, after reading your post, and thankfully the money is still there. Not that there's much of it, but I'm waiting until there's a bit more in there when it will be free to withdraw it!

    morning all
hugs to caroline, PP, moggins, the kitten-cat and anyone else who needs one :)
Overslept this morning and woke up with a shocking headache brought on no doubt by the sun beating down on my head. Plans today are to pick up a parcel (hopefully soapnuts) from the sorting office, dye grey roots purple and phone dd's consultant as I've lost her appointment letter for tomorrow and don't know where her appt is let alone when. This is the followup from her glue ear surgery and she will hopefully get the go-ahead to go swimming when we are at butlins next week - not as glam as Scuzz's trip I know but we've never been before and are sooooo excited :D
dd has been making paper pots for me and supplies them at a very reasonable price of 2p empty or 3p filled with seed compost. I availed myself of 30p's worth yesterday and have sown some more veggies and flowers. I also bought some lollo rosa seedlings yesterday and planted them as I really don't want to buy anymore cut salad this year and my own seedlings are growing very slowly.
I almost never iron btw. our school and work clothes never really need it -I hang the next day's clothes over the shower curtain and the steam from the bath seems to sort them out.
this week will have to be Freezer Challenge Week as I can hardly shut the door - most of it is various fridge debris soups so a nice easy week for me :)
    have a good day

  • Welcome Caroline, and commiserations about your horrible internet discovery. It must have been an utterly heartsinking feeling - at least you've noticed and been able to get onto it quickly.

I hope your day rapidly improves and your account gets reimbursed soon. After the adrenaline surge, I hope you have something good planned to soothe your day! I can recommend baking/cooking and a good walk - always settles me after a jolt like that!!

    Morning :hello:

I have been so busy this weekend that I didn't know until five minutes ago that FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING... I WON THE OFFICE SWEEPSTAKE ON THE NATIONAL!!!!!!!!! So I am £20 better off than I was when I woke up this morning! :j :j :j

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. Got home from church at 1:30, just about had time for a quick swish round the flat (just a bit of a tidy & hoover) and a shower, before heading over to my cousin's new house. She's sharing a huuuuuge house, in a proper bohemian houseshare quite like the place I used to live in 6-7 years ago... she's got a big room right at the top of the house with views over South London, and a really nice peaceful garden full of interesting sculptures made by one of her housemates. I approve :D - if I didn't have my own place, that's definitely the sort of house I'd want to be living in.

Anyway, I was only there for an hour or so, as we then headed up to North London for our baby cousin's dedication service. Baby was soooo well-behaved during the actual dedication. Afterwards there was a party at the college where my cousin's wife works (when she isn't on maternity leave), which has a beautiful garden and views over North London. In the traditional manner my cousin & wife had saved the top tier of their wedding cake for the occasion. Now, I suspect this tradition was principally intended for couples whose first child arrives within a year of the wedding, and cousin & wife have been married for over SEVEN years, but the cake was still perfectly delicious :D

I have promised to host a Sunday lunch for them and my other cousin, as soon as possible so baby is still immobile enough for me not to have to childproof my flat :D

Tonight I will be dropping into the community project and no doubt will end up back round my flat with the project leader, giving her more of my HM soup :D I said she could have a portion of whichever one she liked out of my freezer, as soon as she brings back the Lock&Lock box from the last portion she had :D;)

Talking of soup I think my next effort may be gazpacho, however what with s0d's law being what it is, the weather will probably then return to the depths of winter :rotfl:

Oh, and task no.2 for this evening will be to sort out a Tesco wine order, I tried to order yesterday but after it had gone through I realised I had used an out of date voucher  - which had given me a huge 1p discount instead of the 1000 clubcard points I was expecting :rotfl: so I put in a cancellation request and as soon as I know it's gone through, I'll re-do the order with the right voucher.

moggins - READY MEALS????????????????? Begone, thou traitor, and never again darken the doors of Old Style! Ahem... only joking :D:D;) Seriously, I hope the new job is all you want it to be - best of luck hun :)

Penny-Pincher!! ((((hugs)))) Sorry you're feeling rough :( It can't be nice for you stuck on the sofa indoors all day in the heat either. Hugs to catowen too - I hope the stomach pains go away soon.

RacyRed - I did see your lovely picture yesterday even though I didn't have a chance to comment on it. I don't have a view of "nature" from my window, but I am very close to the green spaces of Burgess Park. On Saturday I had been shopping in Central London and deliberately got a bus back to some distance from where I live, just so I could get off and walk home through the park - the lake is gorgeous in the fine weather with swans swimming on it!

Welcome Caroline :hello: - hope Paypal gets sorted soon :(

OK, must be off now - this is the last day before my boss gets back from holiday so a perfect opportunity to get lots done!!

Sorry if I've missed out any ((((hugs)))) for those with problems

Bye for now everybody - Love Rzl xx

    Hey gang :)

I don't usually post on the daily threads but figured I should join in - just felt like it ;)
Today OH has gone to Kent a day early (he works there 3 days a week so is away 2 nights during the week and it sucks :( ) so the BBQ I had planned for tonight will now be for one and not two people... no doubt the dog will assist me in eating OHs share of the food ;) And some will be lunch for tomorrow :) Having some leftovers from yesterday for lunch today so being very good :)
Need to do this weeks meal plan too - spent so much time gardening and crocheting and just enjoying the sun this weekend I never got round to it :)

And on the subject of OH's - he didn't tell me till last night he was off a day early so as I had planne don taking his car to work today my purse was in it and it's now gone to Kent with him... Thankfully I have £35 cash but it was highly entertaining when I called him to have a moan and he suggested we could meet somewhere halfway tonight so I could get the purse... after all how would I live without my cards for 2 days... I ask you!!! I still don't think he's grasped how little I spend during the week on anything. He really didn't think £35 would see me through and that I would need the cards. His comment? "Well what about emergencies?" Ok I need to stick £10 in the car for fuel but that leaves me £25 for emergencies! The house is brimming with food and I could throw a 5 course dinner party for 12 people without blinking but he just can't fathom that I don't need my cards for 2 days... bless...

Caroline - best of luck with Paypal... just out of interest what AV software do you use and how often do you change your passwords?
Sorry it's just that I am seeing a lot of posts recently about Paypal accounts being hacked and it's very interesting to me... how sad am I? :)

Good morning everyone:hello: And a special welcome to Caroline:D Sorry to hear about paypal, hope they sort it soon. As soon as I finish this I'm off to check all my online accounts!!

Another lovely day, and wouldn't you know it the laundry multiplied in the basket so there's plenty more to do:rotfl: I just love making full use of this wonderful drying weather:rolleyes:

Not feeling too good at the moment. Had words with DH yesterday, and OK I admit it, I wasted the rest of the day sulking:o But he's not blameless either. He 'phoned from work a little while ago to tell me he loves me and I wasn't very receptive, and now I feel guilty. Now do I 'phone and try to make amends, or just make him a nice dinner tonight? Decisions, decisions:rotfl: I know the answer, really, don't I ? Both:D Oh well, I expect humble pie tastes quite nice really:o

Haribo hope all has gone well with kitty.:D Now what is it they say about pets being like their owners, or is it the other way round?:rotfl: :rotfl: (I've got my trainers on, so I'll get running now!)

Rzl congrats on your win! Is anyone in the office still talking to you, I seem to remember people got rather irked if anyone did that when I worked in offices;)

Washing machine has just started its final spin, so I'll be off.

Hope you all have good days.

    CMxx
