Lil_me, Sorry about your poor oven. It's gutting when you've finally sorted something to see that Murphy's law can always apply, no matter what you do.
Welcome all newbies! Lots of posts this week, which is lovely, more company and chatting between flying. :hello:
Well, it's 5.25 and I can't sleep, normally I'd start cleaning, but today I think I'll surf and drink tea - what a lazy little blighter I am!0 -
Morning all,
Well, yesterday I managed to do most, but not all, of what was on the list and it took me nearly all day. I think that I needed to give it a real thorough going over so that I know it is deeply clean before I just start cleaning it on a weekly basis. It made me feel good though, although I did get a bit over zealous on the oven cleaning and almost managed to rub off the settings around the knobs on the front panel! Never mind, I rely on an oven thermometer anyway!
So, to the living rooms today. That could take a while too, but I won't be able to move the sofa's to clean underneath because they are too heavy so I will have to get DH to do that on the weekend!
Good luck with your tasks today!0 -

Morning all :hello:
Just been trying to catch up on all the posts inbetween interruptions from DD  I noticed the talk about "nesting"...oh how I remember that. :rotfl: On the Wednesday when I went into labour with DD I cleaned the house top to bottom, did a weekly shop, and paid all the bills. I was actually in the middle of cleaning the bath at 4pm when I got my first contraction (it came along with an over whelming sense of nausea and moreMorning sickness was a doddle compared to that!) but I carried on :rotfl: After 4 hours I finally called my mum and then an ambulance (Had to have a hospital birth, first one and a bad back with DD in a "back-to-back" position they weren't sure how it would go  She's been a pain in the bottom ever since but I wouldn't change her for the riches in the world :rotfl: ) Early hours of Thursday morning she arrived
Anyways enough reminising. My list for today should be alot easier to manage as everyone will be out :j I'll be able to play my Lilly Allen Album for the first time in 2 weeks  :rotfl:

Morning everyone. Been upsince 6:20 with Charlie. I managed to not get up for a bit, but i thought i would try the Gina Ford routine again today, cos i want Charlie to start having a good nap during the day rather than the cat-naps he does at the minute. Plus, i'm sure i feed him too much. That way he may be more settled before May and my SAT marking so i can do that and fly!
Anyway, both of us are fed, we need to get dressed, and then the plan of action is this:
Tuesday 17/4:
Kitchen
1. [strike]Wipe windowsill [/strike]and [strike]water plants[/strike], wipe marks from plant pots, [strike]shine up the tea/coffee/sugar canister (stainless steel, so polish with a tea towel to remove fingerprints[/strike]

2. Wipe light switch, any marks on walls and doors

4. [strike]Water any plants & make sure dead leaves removed [/strike]
5. Make sure anything 'dumped' is put where it should be, for example books, paperwork, toys etc
Stairs and halls
1. Make sure way is clear can't do just yet as there are 2 big toy boxes that my sister needs to pick up
2. [strike]Tidy coats, shoes, hats, bags, etc [/strike]
3. Remove any cobwebs
4. Vacuum through taking cloth with you to wipe banister on way back down
5. Check fire alarms/smoke detectors
Extra for today is 10 minutes on any hotspot if you have the time
[strike]menu plan for rest of week[/strike]
[strike]Deal with post[/strike]
[strike]Make baby bottles[/strike]
Go shop – get onions, plain flour can wait till tomorrow
[strike]Change bin in bathroom, put some extra nappies in there[/strike] also a new mouth wash

plus anything else that comes up throughout the day- [strike]feed cats
- 2 loads of baby washing - lights and darks

Hi Michelle,
My two were Gina babies - I found the routine helped me and them. I know some people find it restrictive but I tended to follow the milk feeding routine and the rest fell naturally into place. My dd had severe colic and ds had gastroesophogeal reflux so a set feeding time helped keep us all calm!Hope it works for you but it doesn't for many folk so don't feel in any way that you have failed if it doesn't. I'm in awe of the amount you manage to do day-to-day as I don't remember being that organised.:D

Morning.
I have been summoned home by my mother to go ebay for her (still selling off everything from my grandparents house when they had to move into a home in Oct last year) as its 10p listing day on Thurs.
Managed to do everything on the list yesterday plus all my extras including getting the hedge trimmer out and having a go at the hedge with it.
Im going to give the living room a quick going over before i leave with the dusting etc, its not that bad in there as i hoover it everyday (my cats in moulty mode so it needs it!)
Have a good day everyone and see you soon!0 -
