Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread, usually ran by Moggins but I'm just filling in temporarily. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!
For those just starting, it does get easier each week, it may take you an hour to do the tasks set at frst but in no time you'll get it down to less than half that (ask the others they are the living proof) Don't try to catch up, if you join us on a Friday start from then, everything will come back round again. Noone on here is perfect, there are some days I don't get everything done, but as always I give it a good go! Some find it best to set a 15 minute timer for each room/part of the task.
A few of the basics before we start the week.
Right then here goes Monday, as promised to Pigpen back to Kitchen today

A few of the basics before we start the week.
Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc
Nighttime routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. I've just finished in the garden for the evening. It's beginning to come together nicely out there. I must take some more photos, haven't taken any since March.
lil_me - I didn't finish the list today, but never mind, get to start a whole new list. This week I am determined to do 1 thing in the bedroom that needs doing each day. We've nearly finished doing up that room and the stuff that is left to do is mostly small jobs. If I don't do them someone give me a kick up the backside.
I may make a start on the kitchen tonight as the BF cooked dinner and it's currently a right state in there.

Feeble hello from me,
I gardened myself silly yesterday and did a couple of hours this afternoon after work too. I've done tomorrows kitchen, it really doesn't take long after a few weeks so I cleaned out 1 drawer and 1 cupboard just so I felt like I'd done something!
I'm going for a soak in the bath then getting my jimjams on, I know it's early but I'm exhausted. Smug exhausted rather than defeated exhausted if you see what I mean!
I've written my weeks to do list; if I haven't admitted to finishing painting in the bathroom by Friday I wonder would some kind soul send me one of those lovely big kicks I keep seeing? Its been on my to do list since February.. the shame of it..

hi - thanks for list lil_me
well i am feeling like a domestic goddess!!!i made a scrummy banana loaf today for the first time and it was so good i made another for my mum and then feeling inspired i made breadrolls with the dds!! (4 and nearly 2!!) it was fun but took along time - i don't have a breadmaker - but seeing the batch of 30 come out of oven was very satisfying - unfortunately dds were in bed by then so they can try them in morning!! how exciting - hmm now i really am sad and a domestic goddess :rotfl:
well off to watch a dvd and stuff myself with bread and cakes0 -
Hello All
Well had a lovely weekend off work - makes me hate the fact I have to work weekends even more  .
We went shopping on Saturday got the littles new summer sandals and popped to Asda and found the Chinese Supermarket. Am still amazed at the 77p for a huge bottle of soy sauce!!! Got some of the goldfish curry sauce concentrate too - will definately be going there again, maybe without the littles as lots of glass bottles and containers at their level:eek:
House has been kept tidy, had a quick flick right through with hoover and S&S kitchen, bathroom, lounge, only took less than an hour and as we all spent the rest of the day in the garden its still looks good:D
Garden looks really good if I do say so myself. Lawn mowed, edged, boarders all weeded. Got another bag of chipped bark to top up one area of the garden. Kids helped with the weeding, then we played catch. They had a game of football with Daddy (or lets try to trip Daddy up and pull his shorts downas DD1 plays it). Girls had a dip in the paddling pool, then we had a BBQ for tea. Think I have caught the sun a little bit but did have factor 30 on.
Sounds like everyone else has been busy over the weekend too!
Right off to look at tomorrows list. The trampoline is being delivered tomorrow which I am not looking forward too as I know DD1 will nag and nag at me to put it together - dont fancy trying it by myself.
Night night all0 -
Hi people, I popped in here yonks ago and decided to give it a try, have failed miserably...but I have painted the hall, livingroom, had a go at sorting out my spare bedroom and even put the shade up that i bought months ago for afore mentioned tip. Theres just too much, the garden looks a lot better tho, as I went a bit mad with my new strimmer, think I might move out there:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

Good evening everyone,
Well after my week off - im set to get flying again - have already started, ive just made up tomorrows packed lunches!!!
My kitchen really needs a good sorting out tomorrow, its still chock a block with easter eggs and other 'junk' that seems to acumalate in there. I did give my downstairs loo a good clean today, i dont go in there often (while im not working no LOs to check up on!!) but i did today, and it wasnt good!!! Well, it is now, ready for work tomorrow.
Off for an early night now i think, the alarm will be going off at 6.30, and the last few days ive been lying in until 9, so bit of a shock!!!!
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Me too happy! When you add the playing, the phone ringing and your mate calling around because her husband's locked her out...1 hour becomes every hour.
Well, the vax seems to have done a pretty good job, but I'll re-do the carpet at some point. DH works in a tar factory, so we have little patches of tar all up and down the hallway. We have a special cleaner for it, but removing the cleaner itself is a pain. I have found that a foam made of stardrops heavily worked in will do it though. Just hurts your arms.
Just hope it doesn't gunge up the vax!
I wish you all the best for this week's flying, personally I can't wait to get started - how sad is that???
