I've done the kitchen, I did some stuff yesterday (cleaned out fridge and gave the washing machine a hot wash through), so I've done the bathroom too.

I feel "scratchy" today, looking for an argument. Good job I'm on my own!

Wow all the newbies today, welcome all. Mumoftwo welcome back. Morning everyone :D

Flylady - I get the emails, honestly I delete most before reading but steal some ideas for here. I find them a little too much and very American, doesn't suit me.

The way this one works - some follow own lists, some follow the one posted. I find it easier to do one list each day, covering one or a few rooms. The reason why soemtimes a few rooms is so we can have weekends off, those without kids at home get longer weekend as I've moved kids/spare rooms to a Friday. I've tried many systems, from working from just a daily list and 5 extra jobs, doing one room at a time (which just mean't the others got worse) but this system I tried on here with the other members and has really worked for me. There is no pressure, get as much as you can done but don't burn yourself out. The proof it works are the comments of everyone else. It takes less doing each week, you can use catch up at weekends if you like but everything comes back round so less pressure. Being able to strike things off a list which are jobs which are unpaid and need to be done with very little or no thanks does give a glowing sense of achievement.

I do have a dailies list with tick boxes I use, have ones for weekly and monthly too :o of course this is MY daily to do but will give anyone completely stuck an idea if you want a copy I can email it just PM me your email addy then you can edit it yourself.

Right enough waffling, you lot are much more motivated than me today, I still feel rotten and have had about 3 hours kip max so taking a few extra coffees. Bloomin' weather means rethinking what to do with the boys, it's wet and miserable here. Also means the wash loads I did last night to get dry today as it was so nice will have to hang out in the house, grr!
One day I might be more organised...........

Morning everyone, or is that almost afternoon ;) I've been doing my out of the house errands while it was early-ish so i could have a bit of exercise, and take Charlie for a walk in the buggy before it got too hot. So i can scrub a few things but not that much.

It is boiling here today. Baby bedroom was 24 degrees all night last night, so i threw open the window while it was cooler this morning, and it took it to 21, but now it is 23 again. I may have to use cot sheets tonight rather than his grow bag as i don't want him to over heat. Could be really dangerous

pigpen where are you hiding this morning? Hope you aren't slacking again cos the weather is nice. ;) :rotfl:

Welcome to all the new people on the thread, and welcome back to mumof two.

    I've also:
    • hung up load of washing from last night on airers (don't like putting my undies on display for the neighbours)
    • washed a load of DH's jeans, now hung on line
    • wm going again with a load of my darks, now on line
    • also washed a light load, needs to go out but weather gone a bit iffy
    • unpacked DH's bag from his working away last week, seems though he didn't touch it all weekend
    • remembered we needed bread while i was out, and also got a couple of reduced bargains, and remembered to pick up some flour, so i could make my banana loaf today....
    • opened all of upstairs windows to get some cool air circulating and to try to cool it down again.
    • fed cats x 2
    • had a fight with one of the cats (he grabbed one of the legs of the jeans i was hanging out, and wouldn't let go. Stupid cat)
    • got all washing in, put washing line away
  • Morning (just!) everyone.

DH took DS to school this morning so I was able to crack on first thing and by 9.30 I had most of lil_me's list sorted.
Just goes to show that it does get a little easier each week.
Last night I even took out DS's school uniform from the wardrobe and hung it up ready as not only was it all sorted a few days ago and not in a mad panic like normal, but there was somewhere to hang it easily because of the decluttering we'd done!

The bottom of the oven needs some attention and DH didn't clean a single window downstairs at the weekend like he said he would so they all need doing.
Also need to dust in the dining room, didn't get chance to do that as time was running out before I needed to get showered and dressed to look presentable for our social worker visit. There is a local authority interested in us who have a little boy they are looking to place, but we're not getting excited just yet as there is a very, very long way to go with this process.

So as well as jobs above that need doing, I am going to sit in the garden and look through all the items I've collected as evidence for my report at work as that is due to be done next week.
Leave early enough so before I collect DS from school I can post a letter and buy 2 storage baskets.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

  • good afternoon all!
I'm going to print out the list for today and get through it - after my swishing last night I'll be there in no time. I'll post up after the boys are in bed otherwise I will just keep making excuses to 'pop up and cross something off' - which always takes a lot longer than the 5 secs it should...
The 27 fling boogie should be a laugh - I'm going to strike the sitting room: reckon it'll be more like 270 fling boogie!! :rotfl:
    Happy flying.....
    Is it home time yet?
