OOOOOOOOOOOOH it IS working!!!!!!!!!
The kitchen was a TIP - traipsed in sand, compost, toys, the contents of the dog's water bowl (she is called Betty - I just can't go on calling her 'the dog'), 18mo with mop and dogs bowl and compost 'cleaning' the kitchen, 3yo deciding that wasn't the way to do it, so adding brush into the melee... I really thought I was on to a loser - but I actually swished and swiped before I came to bed - and do you know, half an hour later the oven is being cleaned, the work surfaces are clear, the floor is swept and even all the things needed for breakfast are out ready.
But why is it that the lone photo of Betty as a teeny tiny pup which has floated around various shelves/notice boards/drawers/work surfaces of every kitchen we have lived in (3 to date) is still floating? It is getting a frame tomorrow - she is 6 years old, for goodness sake!
Thanks Lil-me, thanks Maralum, thanks everyone....Is it home time yet?0 -

Morning
Thought after a faltering start a few weeks ago (just as I'd started DH decided it'd be a good idea to do a load of diy to kitchen which meant we couldn't get into half the rooms let alone clean them).
One thing I wondered though - I get the fly lady e-mails - do you guys do these tasks plus everything on the e-mails or do you choose one system or other?
Will get started on today's list later on....0 -

....
I didn't even know about the emails - it has taken me 4 weeks to get to the stage where I can get to grips with lil-mes's lists - I don't think I could cope with any more! I'm finding that the lists are making the most enormous difference - to the house and to me: suddenly so much more seems possible: I'm actually enquiring this morning about becoming a child-minder, I've already started taking in ironing (we are very very broke!) and I'm organising a Spanish exchange trip - I'd never have been able to even contemplate all that without the help of this board. Is it home time yet?0 -

Hello,
I've decided to embark on being a fly lady this week, and I'm glad it's the kitchen to start with because it really is getting on my nerves. Hopefully mum will bring her steam cleaner up today so that I can have a better go at the oven.
Just the one question - what is a fly lady e-mail and how can I get them?
Here's to a lovely clean kitchen at the end of the day!0 -

The fly-lady emails just annoyed me, I spent more time dealing with emails that I had time to do anything. Now I just do this list plus a few extras a week of my own huge list of things that need doing.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
Hello Everyone
Used to do the Flylady thing a few years ago, but kind of gave up - however it worked wonderfully whilst I did it!
Anyhow, was sitting looking at the dust on the dresser yesterday and thinking that it was time to get a bit organised again, also spotted that there was a thread running in OS, so decided that this week I was going to invite myself along:D Its odd, although I have been a right lazy toad when it comes to most housework, the 'whats for dinner' and 'wheres your laundry' have stuck with me and I'm on top of both of those:T
Thank you lil-me for posting a to-do list up, I will definately try to follow that today, and well done:T to everyone who has the energy / organisation skills to add to it with their own personal to-dos (I will soon be there again!!)0 -
GoooooooooooDDDDDDDDDDDDdddddddddddddd Morning Flyers!!!!!
It's Monday morning, OH Is back at work, DD is back at school tomorrow and I can't wait :rotfl: I spent the entire weekend in the garden thinning seedlings, sowing peas/cornflowers/honesty/lupins (thanks for the compost Mum! 18 honesty seeds in ready to share between us all:T ), best thing is I remembered to put suncream on :rotfl: I only caught a "healthy glow" instead of the usual "cooked lobster" so I'm feeling okay considering how much work I did! Only downside is that there are all sorts of bits just "put it down for a minute" in the kitchen again  So I'm glad it's the kitchen today. Even though DD is home today (and making the most of her stereo she got for her birthday    ) I'm going to crack on and get stuff done.
So todays list :- Dailies

- Ironing - including Hama

- Change DD's bed (bath night with having school tomorrow)
- Make chocolate bar/drops with DD so that Easter eggs can be downsized and hidden (in a sealed box) to avoid temptation
Now to tackle DD's hair...if you hear any screaming is just the tangles/knots in it so don't worry
:rotfl::o:o:o :wave:
