Good morniong everyone,
Michelle - not sure what the Gina Ford routine is - but i always had a routine with my 2, and ran my day around those routines (apart from special occassions) and i always looked at other friends who didnt do this, and was very glad that i did!!! Even now they are older, we still stick to set times for everything, and our house runs very smoothly (most of the time!!!)
Not got loads to do today - ive already finished the washing and hung it out, and given the bathroom a quick swish, but still have the toilets, make the beds, start the living room and get my paperwork done. At the moment tho, im sat having a cup of tea!!!
Well, better get moving,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Managed to do most of my list yesterday. Done all the ironing but it is still hanging on the kitchen chairs, will have to take it upstairs asap.
One load pegged out and guess what? It has started raining! that is what I get for putting washing out at 7am when it looks sunny. Never mind, it can hang there for a while, hoping that the sun will come out again.
Slow cooker on with chili con carne.

Well, enough surfing, great to read all your posts, I get so much inspiration from you all and the motivation I need to get off my backside...0 -
Quick catch up here. Sis texted me to see if my OH was okay after there was a crash this morning on his route into work. I panicked slightly so logged on the comp to check he had made it to work (He logs into MSN so I know he arrived safe and he can "chat" to a few friends when he's making phonecalls etc :rotfl:) and he's fine. Apparently it took him 30 minutes to travel 1 mile due to the tailbacks from this accident  At least he's safe.
Been a busy bee since I got in....or should that be fly?:rotfl: I did a 10 minute cardio blast work out (Anne Diamond "new You") and thought I was going to end up in hospital
I was so hot and sweaty, but I was back to normal completely within a couple of minutes..hopefully it will get easier but I think I did quite well for my first attempt at it. That every other day along with an Abdominal Blast every day should have me in a size 18 if not smaller by the summer....just need to shift the bl**dy Easter eggs that are sat on the side whispering "eat me... go on it won't do you any harm"
Time to update my list since I've finished my coffee.

Oh dear, not really flying so far today. Not even hovering!
However, have caught up on watching pocoyo with baby boy and spent lots of time drinking tea. Two very important jobs, obviously. Especially the pocoyo. The tea has it's charm, but can't compare to a funny little chap in a blue hat.
Promise to self - WILL get dressed in the next hour!!! DH is due home for lunch in 30 minutes, he'll be horrified to find me chatting and slobbing.0 -
Hi all, I am in desperate need of getting back into this.
I made a good start at the beginning of the year but then got back into old ways of trying to pretend that the mess just wasn't happening.
Then recently I started making loads of excuses - children on half term, had to "do" my Dad's ashes, etc etc and the house has gotten even worse.
I am now at the point of sheer embarressment and my friend has even offered to come and give me a hand, so I feel totally inadequate as a housewife
So, having got the children back at school, and scattered my dad's ashes, I need to get a hold on reality again otherwise I will end up hiding in a corner, so Flylady it is I think!
I have an hour before I have told said friend above that I will go for a coffee, so Tuesday's challenge seems to be well worth making a start on.
If anyone sees me drinking another coffee or trying to make out that daytime telly is worth watching in the next hour, please feel free to shout very loudly at meSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

My two were Gina babies - I found the routine helped me and them. I know some people find it restrictive but I tended to follow the milk feeding routine and the rest fell naturally into place. My dd had severe colic and ds had gastroesophogeal reflux so a set feeding time helped keep us all calm!Hope it works for you but it doesn't for many folk so don't feel in any way that you have failed if it doesn't. I'm in awe of the amount you manage to do day-to-day as I don't remember being that organised.:D
i've tried in the past, and it hasn't worked, but it seems to be so far today. I've actually got him in his cot now (after a sulk when he got a drink of water instead of his usual milk), so fingers crossed for me. I won't do the crying bit though, so that is maybe why it didn't work for us previously. Glad to hear it worked for you.
shell2001 wrote:ALSO - forgot to wipe oven out last night (using Michelle's tip) quick question though Michelle do I just put neat white vinegar on a cloth and wipe?
that's how i do it. I suppose once it was really clean, it would work in a dilute spray bottle, but the neat stuff is fab on them burnt bits.catowen wrote:Michelle - not sure what the Gina Ford routine is - but i always had a routine with my 2, and ran my day around those routines (apart from special occassions) and i always looked at other friends who didnt do this, and was very glad that i did!!! we have a routine normally, but i have been concerned about how much he eats in one go, and the fact he still has 3 cat-naps rather than a longer one at the middle of the day and this throws us out for his night routine when he is tired and grumpy.
basically, she splits the feeds up so he only has milk with his breakfast, then has lunch, then has a bottle, then has tea, then a final bottle before bed. Also he can sleep in the morning and between 12 and 2. I just want a routine that works better than the current one, so i will try hers as it is supposed to work on their natural energy cycles. Plus, i am usually a bit naughty and don't always put him in his cot to sleep, and then i don't get much done.
Just having a jacket tattie with cheese while his lordship is asleep. Then i need to hang some more washing out, get the BM on, and make up his bottles. I'm having a playing morning though, as i'm being so mean and not feeding him till he bursts. :rotfl: Children eh, couldn't eat a whole one.
Michelle, x0 -
Helloe everyone! Have been very good today and this is the 1st time I've logged on. Got a lot crossed off the lists, made a couple of appointments and managed to collar the neighbours about the move so feel better about that. Having a flying day, DS had 2 hour sleep so got loads done then. The internal photos will be done tomorrow so want to have a good tidy before bed, move DS chair, toys, etc.
Michelle - I've read all the Gina books and although I don't follow her rountine, I have based my rountine on hers, I think thats what these books are for - give you the idea and then you adapt for yourself. Baby has about 3 hours sleep a day, mostly two long naps and is bed by 7pm and up about 6am so this works well for us. He sleeps in his cot or buggy when we're are about. I also do the feeds like that, breakfast and bottle when up, 11.45am dinner, 3.30 milk, 4.30 tea and 6.45 last bottle. Works for us, hes slept through since 7 weeks and just his feeds have changed. I can honestly say hes a very happy baby, everyone comments and I think his rountine helps, sometimes I do feel bad for making him do a rountine and MIL think I'm evil but when we have a changed day, he's a nightmare! Hope it works for you, remember it'll take time for Charlie to adjust.;)

I AM SICK OF CHOCOLATE  Never thought I'd say that but I am. I've melted down all of DD's eggs and I'm trying to make them into big chocolate buttons on account of portion control with her
I have managed to make 2 batches so far and there is still chocolate sitting in a bowl over the pan in the kitchen! I have no idea how many I'm going to end up making but I've already made 2 dozen :eek: Latest lot are still chilling in the fridge.
Not managed much else as I'm feeling tired (must be all the exercise) and I've spent most of the day, as I'm doing jobs, trying to work out how to explain love and sex to DD
:eek: Our cousin has had a baby girl (which reminds me I need to get the card written!) and DD pretty much understands that babies grow inside a mummy but it needs a daddy to help make it. I explained the whole egg & sperm thing to her but at 8pm last night she asked me how the sperm gets from the daddy to the mummy
 I told her it was time for bed but I would explain tonight after school. I need to make sure that I make it as clear as possible as when she first found out about babies growing inside mummies she wanted one to grow inside of her right there and then and also asked if I could grow one as she wanted a baby brother or sister to take to school the next day :rotfl: I think honest, but basic answers to any questions are the key... not really looking forward to it but at least she's asking before she hits the "talking to my mum is so not cool/is embarrasing" stage
