I had one when it very first came out and thought it horrible.
But I had it 'neat' and I suspect it's designed to be mixed. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

You come across as an angry keyboard warrior who thinks they are better than others, frankly I don't believe you have a job let alone a decent one. And now you're trying the 'mild dyslexia' card. Maybe if you tone down the '!' and calm down a bit you might get taken a little more seriously...0 -

Thats your opinion! And i do have a job but if you do not believe me im really not worried! I suppose you have a job do you? How do i know and why would i care! anyway ill hopefully not speak to you again as i have got work to do!! bye0

I have been caught out by this too, nearly always at Morrisons. A few months ago, their cupcake boxes were labelled at £1.50. It wasn't a special offer ticket or anything. I duly bought several only for them to go though at £3 each at the till. When I queried, someone went to check and came back and said yes they were labelled wrong but the price at the till was the correct price. Another time, it wasa box if Shreddies cereal, again, no special price ticket, just a regular ticket for half the price which went through at full price. Last week, it was Vaseline intensive care roll-on, labelled at 74p. I even checked with a staff member in the aisle, asking her why they were so cheap and she said it was probably because they were discontinued. I got to the till and they scanned through at £1.80! The 74p label is still there as at today. In Asda recently, a load of children's toys had a 2 for £20 sticker all over. I picked up 2, got to the till only for them to scan through at £30 each. The checkout lady rang the manager who said the toys were all mislabelled - there were literally hundreds of them but they still wouldn't honour ticket price. I didn't make a fuss as I know legally they were not obliged to but you should have heard the chap behind me with a load of the toys; he didn't mince his words!
The best one for me was Aldi, I have been on more than a few occasions been overcharged by the checkout person scanning one item through multiple times. Last week it was a pack if their nappies, scanned three times so £15 for 1. Yesterday, they scanned the whole chicken twice so wanted over £8 for one!
I don't think this unique to just Morrisons , I think there is enough annecdotal evidence from just my experiences, never mind others to suggest that the practice is fairly common place. OP, please ignore those saying it was your fault and you should have checked the label or that you even changed it. I have two young kids myself and shopping with them is stressful enough to worry about than trying to scam a £6 bottle of Malibu! I don't think it's unreasonable for you to expect to pay the price that is displayed on the shelves. I think if nothing else your post may act as a reminder to others to maybe check their receipts more carefully. Clearly, not enough of us do otherwise the supermarkets might have taken better action to stop this happening. Maybe in good times, they were able to get away with it more, but now times are harder for most people, I don't know about you but I go through my receipts before I leave the store like a hawk. I also check as any special items are scanned through and if they come up a different price I stop them straight away. It pees me off that I have to do it but such is life.0 -
Logically, if Morrisons have a deliberate policy of ripping off customers by using misleading shelf edge labels then word would spread like wildfire and it would be reasonable to expect trading standards and consumer organisations getting involved. At the very least Anne Robinson on Watchdog. This would result in Morrisons losing customers and losing business.
In the real world, this has not happened and Morrisons are still rated as the number 4 Supermarket in the UK.
OK, mistakes have been made on a few shelf edge labels and some customers are unwilling to to check the labels, especially on an unbelievable price.
Rein in your paranoia, Morrisons are not trying to rip you off, they want satisfied customers to come back to the store!

I don't think it's anything as concrete as Morrisons having a policy of cheating their customers.
What we have is a systemic failure that seems to be affecting a lot of people and which Morrisons do not seem to have any intention of correcting.
The fact that the results of this systemic failure are that Morrisons make some extra profit by selling certain good to people at prices that are higher than they believed they were paying is just a happy accident (happy as far as Morrissons are concerned, that is).
If people are concerned or annoyed by this they should contact their local trading standards and complain. If enough people do this Morrissons will be 'spoken to' and will almost certainly clean up their act. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
