you are wanting to complain and cry over £6! That seems a bit extreme it was a mistake clearly signs get moved all the time. If you read the sign properly then maybe it would not of happened! Also like previously said £6 quid for a bottle of malibu is not going to happen!
In Morrison's - signs DO NOT get moved all of the time and as for 'reading the signs properly' - you are aware that many people - in particularly elderly customers, may not have the sharpest of eyesight.
One incident recently at Doxford Park (Sunderland) was a product that was 'on offer' (I cannot recall what it was) but when I checked my receipt, I was charged full price. I asked the 'charming' customer services lady why I had been charged full price and after a grunt and a moan, I was told it was my fault as the offer finished two days ago and I should have looked at the offer closing date (miniscule print) on the price label.......!
I suggested that the store manager should ensure that all offer price labels should be removed and replaced when the offer ended!
I can tell you that I think I am a savvy shopper - (you need to be in Morrison's) but I still get caught out occasionally. As I alluded to earlier, stuff like this happens too frequently to be an error and it seems that judging by posters on this thread from various parts of the country, some may suggest it is company policy to deliberately deceive customers.
And don't get me going about their filthy practice of piling unhygienic sawdust under leaking fridges..........disgusting!0 -
Sounds more like a customer mistake.. I always read the labels now to make sure its the right label for the right product as they do get moved about or the stock put in the wrong place. One of those things.

I can't see any them selling spirits for less than the duty as that just doesn't make sense. Duty is about 7 pounds.
There is far less duty on wine which allows them to sell wine at an alleged half price and still make a profit0 -
With nearly all shelf label special offers it gives you the barcode or item number of the product that is actually on offer.
It must take all of 10 seconds to check and see that the item matches the offer.0 -

Quite right.
It make you wonder why Morrisons don't allocate staff to check that they are advertising the correct price rather than continue to cheat their customer. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Last time I drank Malibu I was violently sick, bad times.
I must admit, this happens where I work sometimes, it's just a case of reading the labels carefully, unfortunately reading signs and small print (in some cases VERY small print) in regards to offers are things some customers seem to be unwilling to do, nothing personal, but if the description on the SEL doesn't match the product behind it then I personally don't see a valid argument (then again, I'm biased towards the company, being a shop worker and all).
Understandably, you're a bit miffed, but hey, you win some you lose some!
Plus, Morrisons has a crackin' cafe, so take yourself and your kids for a greasy lunch next time, that'll make everything better!0 -

Isn't Malibu a liqueur? It certainly has less alcohol than the likes of Whisky,Vodka etc and many 'copy' malibu liqueur drinks do cost around the price the OP thought she was paying for the real thing. With nearly all shelf label special offers it gives you the barcode or item number of the product that is actually on offer.

You are missing the point - the customer shouldn't have to check the tiny bar code numbers (assuming they can see them) as the correct label should correspond with the product associated with it - a simple procedure that Morrison's can't or won't monitor.0
