To be fair to the OP in any of the Morrisons that I have used it pays to assume that the shelf price label is for a different item. Tesco annoy me with their confusing and possibly misleading price offers. Can't comment on the other supermarkets except for Lidl. Yesterday I bought a 2 kg pumpkin for 50p even though the shelf label was £1.39 per kilo. Sometimes the consumer does get a bargain!0

Let face it, Malibu will never be £6 a bottle, and if I saw it at this price I would expect a huge special offer sign next to it, not a normal price ticket.
Commom sense prevails here to double check. If something is too good to be true then it probably is. OP - Live and learn!0 -

Or is it possible that that they accidentally put it in the wrong place?
Or another customer moved it?
Or even (heaven forbid) that you moved it?

This is a frequent occurence in Morrison's - check out other posters with similar experiences.
It is a commonplace practice (certainly in Doxford Park outlet) to place similar products that are not on offer next to those that are and another trait is to fill up the space of sold out offers with similar products that are full price without removing the offer labels.
It happend too frequently to be staff error - and as for their 'customer services' when you catch them out - they will blame the customer.
I can sympathise OP - don't blame yourself for being misled.OP, the going rate for a 70 cl bottle of Malilbu is about £13, normal for a propriety brand of spirit.
Yet you really expect Morrisons to sell you a bottle for half that?
Dave
The going rate for bottle of Taittinger and Laurent Perrier Champagne is in excess of 30 odd quid - I bagged both brands just before last Christmas for less than half the 'going rate' so your argument doesn't wash.
Recently, Morrisons were selling Freixenet Vintage Cava at less than half price - which I duly stocked up with!.
Many products (including alcohol) are sold at better than half price so it is not unreasonable to assume the OP was misled.0 -
Well said dickydonkin. I'll add my name to the growing list of people who've been caught out by this misleading sales practice in Morrisons.
Only last week I bought 2 packs of mince pies, clearly labelled on the shelf as 2 for £2. They went through the till at 2 x £1.49 = £2.98 (no discount applied). It turned out the promotional mince pies had sold out, so the shelf had been filled with a "different type" of mince pie which was not on promotion, but the 2 for £2 sign was still in place.
Morrisons must be making a fortune from all the people who don't check their receipts.0 -
This happens all the time in morrisons. I nearly bought some foil for £6 with a sign saying £2 in front of it. My face dropped when paying for it - I only had a handful of stuff so noticed it quite easily.
I told her to cancel it and made her wait whilst I go change it. That's my form of vigilante justice.
Even taking a second look at the sign though I still think it was a little bit unclear.
You do have to take care in morrisons though guys as this kind of thing is common and easy to fool for if your not paying attention.0 -
Caveat emptor.
Always check the prices as things are scanned and always check your receipt immediatley after you have paid.0 -
you are wanting to complain and cry over £6! That seems a bit extreme it was a mistake clearly signs get moved all the time. If you read the sign properly then maybe it would not of happened! Also like previously said £6 quid for a bottle of malibu is not going to happen!0

I don't think it is unique to Morrisons. Have seen this happen in Sainsbury's, Asda etc. if something seems too good to be true, I always double check as it usually is!0
