The woman says that because it is a store card, i cannot claim back my overlimit and late payment fees.
Is this the case ??
Secondly, she said that my account has been deleted and they have NO OTHER RECORD of it (microfilm).
Is this legal / feasable ?Halifax - Victory!

Not sure on the second part but the first bit about not being able to claim as it is a store card is rubbish. I've written to Debenhams and BHS and received offers from both - not enough but that is a different story!0

Is it a long closed account? Don't know about them inparticular but other organisations still keep records even if the account is closed.0

yeah its like 200? it was closed, a few years anyway.
They said they dont keep anything longer than 6 monthsHalifax - Victory!

Ok ive had an idea
Ive found an old reference number from Westcot Credit Services (the blokes hired by Style/RBOS to get cash from me)
Perhaps they can / have something. I wonder can i demand they hand anything over to me?Halifax - Victory!

As your account has been closed more than 6 years you will have difficulty a) getting the information and b) claiming any money from them due to the six year limit.
Should you be successful in claiming any monies from them as your account was in a debt situation the money will be put towards the debt account.0 -
no the account was paid off in full, but only after it was defaulted.
I rang westcot credit services and Ta Da, ive got the account number. So its time to write to the RBOS data protection team and take it from there.Halifax - Victory!

Hi there,
I have a thread running on the dfw board with reference to debt owed to CL finance (for a river island store card), should I send a letter requesting infomation on any charges on this account, (as we have done for bank accounts).
Is there a different template letter for credit cards.
Many thanks
