Yes, if they are penalty charges, you can claim them back.
Many people have successfully got CC charges back.0 -
Hello all
Im new to this forum, and whilst I am currently going through the motions of reclaiming bank charges, am I right in saying that you can also reclaim charges imposed by Credit Card Companies aswell??
Also can anyone advise me if you can also reclaim charges imposed by storecard companies and home shopping catalogue companies after all that is also a form of credit insnt it??? has anyone successfully reclaimed from say Argos or a catalogue company, if so do you follow the same procedure as for bank charges..
Help please
Thankyou

Hello all,
Martin mentions in his lead article that this is about charges involving bank accounts and credit cards. I have done my initial letter for my bank RBS, however I'm a little concerned about the wording of the initial template letter for use with credit card claims as it does not mention 'late payment fees' which are more applicable. i.e.
"...all the default charges for direct debit, unauthorised overdrafts and standing orders i have paid over the last six years."
Does a line about late fees need to be added or have I got the wrong end of the stick and late fees are not included?
I would be most grateful for any replies that can clarify..thank you.0 -
You can claim 'late fees'
Just change the text to say 'Late payment penalties' or whatever your Credit Card company words them as.0 -

People have certainly claimed against Store Cards and catalogue companies. You'll find finance for these things is mostly provided by the big banks anyway.0 -
Hello! I'm a newbie - this site makes very interesting reading..
Does the same advice apply to late payment fees for credit cards? I'm ususally very good at organising my money, but when I was a student a couple of years ago I had a Royal Bank of Scotland credit card, that then got changed into a Mint card. I never got around to setting up the direct debit, so I made all of my payments online.
On a few occassions (maybe 3 or 4?) I either missed the monthly payment deadline by a few days, or paid just before the deadline but because they say it takes 5 working days to process, I was classed a as paying late anyway.
On each occassion they charged me a £20 fee. I've paid off the card now in total and closed it down, and I haven't got my old statements to check exactly how many times the fees were chareged.
Does this fall under the same category? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!0 -
Hi Gav,
Yes it does and it works in the same way as claiming from a bank0 -
hi all,
I have held an account with Littlewoods catalogue for a few years, i sent them an access request form last week they have replied asking me to fill out a questionnaire about "my account" and history, they have said i need to fill this in then they will consider sending my statements- do i have to fill this in considering i sent them Martins access request letter last week? if not then what do i send in place of this?0
