Unfortunately I'm a student so my credit rating isn't the best. Anyone know for sure if they would be within their rights to ask me to pay it off immediately?0

Can barclays close a current account if I claim back charges on barclycard, or are barclays/barclaycard 2 different things?? Thanks for all the fab advice and support!0

Just after some advice please.
I have already successfully claimed back charges from my Bank, First Direct, bit Ive read on these forums, that you can do the same with Credit Cards too?
Unfortunately, the Credit Cards Im referring to, I have subsequently cleared and disposed of any information I used to hold for them, like account numbers, addresses etc. Although I do remember getting charges on most of them at some point.
The cards Im talking about are...
American Express
Goldfish
Providian
Morgan Stanley Dean Witter
Capitol One
MBNA
Monument (this may be the same as Providian - cant remember)
Firstly, does anyone have a relevant contact address and/or email for the Card companies listed above? And can I request account details and statements etc dating back 6 years, providing I give them my details and past addresses?
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks.0 -
Also does it weaken my position to have arrears on the relevant credit card accounts? I realise it would be better not to have but these charges are partly the reason I am in arrears to start with. Is this a valid argument?

We were with the Woolwich that have now been taken over by Barclays0 -
I was unemployed for about a year due to ill health and on incapacity benefit, MBNA where not willing to help and charging me all sorts of fees even though I was paying what I could afford they where crippling me charges, can I claim these back??
And on the bacnking side of thing I know you can claim back over drawn fees but can I have on a few occasions been a £1 or so short for direct debits and got charges a £38 fee not having enough funds, can this be claimed back?
Thanks0 -
Last year i fell behind on some payments to my catalogue. They then started to charge me upto £25 a month in "administration fees" i was wondering would i be able to reclaim these charges aswell?0

If they are penalty charge, yes. Other people have successfully reclaimed from catalogues.0
